Hi! I "think" that as Master Admin, if I send a private note to a member who has all their notifications set to OFF, my note will trigger an email notification to them anyway. This insures that I am always able to contact members. Is this correct or have i been in denial concerning my admin powers all this time? (lol)
If this is correct, then I'd like to enable my Profile Admins (my site moderators) to be able to get through to those kinds of members in the same way as well, since i rely on my mods to do some of the moderating chores on my site.
I want both me and my profile admins to be able to send a PM to members who have all their notifications turned off, and have them receive an email notification. (without having to actually go into their profile Notifications settings to manually change them)
I can't recall seeing where this setting is or whether it exists at all. thnx

You might have seen this feature in the NewLetter module. There is an option there for admin to override any user notification preferences and make sure they are notified regardless. That option isn't available for Private Notes.

Thanks Paul. Right now I have always had Private Notes module active but have not heard of NewLetter. Can those two modules be used in tandem?

Are you saying that even as Master Admin right now if I send a PM to a member with all notif. turned off... that they won't be notified of my PM? (I always thought my own pms would push through and notify because i am the All Powerful) ;)

Oh d'oh- do you mean the Newsletter module? (which i have but have never used)
But that goes out to a whole quota i think... i'm talking about sending a message to just one member.

Sending a Private Note as an admin does not override the recipient's notification settings. Sorry.

Ok. I guess I'd have to send them a direct email from outside the system to their email address if i 'had to' get in touch with them. Thanks Paul, marking this finished. Have a good holiday season. :)
