I have set the default max size of attachments in my Forum module to be 2MB (see attached screenshot below).
Yet a member just attached an MP4 file that is 3.3MB in his post in one of my Forums categories.. see here:
https://fotmd.com/forums/forum/instruments-discuss-specific-features-luthiers-instrument-problems-questions/36647/new-to-me-qs-on-nut-bridge-fit-and-strings#r37310

(BTW just wanna mention i scanned that MP4 with Malwarebytes -and it's clean and it functions fine as a music video clip after I download it)
Not sure what I'm missing here, why is my forum attachment limit not working as I expect?
(I use a profile called Forums that 'owns' my site-wide forum, if that info helps)

This is fixed in the next releases of the Core and Forum modules.
Thanks for letting us know about it.

Do you mean you went ahead and applied the fix on my fotmd site? (I don't think I have any nate skins)
OR... should I just wait and the fix will happen at the next Core/Forum update? (that's ok too, as long as everyone will get the fix at that time, along with my other pennywhistle jamroom site)

Sorry - that previous post about other skins should have gone into our internal tracker system. I've deleted it now.

I hadn't updated your sites but have now, so let me know if things are lookig better now.
Thanks

I checked the FOTMD site just now and the size limit for forum attachments is working fine now, I logged in as a regular member and it would NOT let me attach either a 4MB jpg or a 200MB MP4 onto a forum post... Yay Paul!
(I'm assuming that because you said "sites" you applied the same fix on my pennywhistle site as well- if not let me know)
I think this had not been working for a long time as I seem to recall wondering about it a long time ago but didn't have the time to do anything then. This is good because i don't want to have to host somebody's long boring home movies on my server without even realizing it's there, hidden in some obscure forum post. ;D
Thank you!!! :)

It was a bug that has been there from the start lol
It was checking file size against the global Core setting and not the Forum module setting.

Yes, have also done the Penny Whistle site.

OMG been there from the start? Too funny, well I guess it was indeed "there for a long time". LOL
Thanks for going to the trouble of applying the fix for me, Paul.
