solved new iphone photo format

apparently iphone no longer saves in jpeg but some new format s iphone users can no longer upload files
can support be added to allow upload and convrsion to a format we can use (jpg)

I have an iPhone and it is running the latest version of iOS. The camera pictures are JPG images - I've never heard of them using anything else. If you have documentation that shows what format they have changed to or are using, let me know.

aparently there maybe a way to get it to shoot in jpg but most people are shooting in this new more compressed format

says its suposed to work, but tested it from 2 iphones both said file not compatable

Yeah this is definitely not the "default" - I have a house full of iphones, and non make this format the default. My guess is this is for the "live photos" option, which in reality is a small movie (MP4). This would not be supported as an image. I will check it out when I get a chance.

they were just trying to upload photos they took not live moving photos ..as far as i know
this says it is the default and you have to change it to shoot in jpg http://osxdaily.com/2017/09/29/change-iphone-camera-default-image-format-jpeg-heif/

It looks like it is a feature only on the newest iPhones - I don't see that option here. Do you have an HEIF picture you could send me at brian [at] jamroom [dot] net so I can look at it? Jamroom uses GD for image manipulation - if GD does not support HEIF then it's not a format we can support.
