solved Which browsers and browser versions are compatible with which versions of JR?

One of my network members recently stated that he cannot view his Profile page properly using a Safari browser. I am using the most recent JR core and module updates, and a clone of the most recent Ningja skin.

I have just done a quick check of the Support forums, FAQ, and Documentation, and have not found any summary statement concerning which browsers can be used with which versions of JR.

Is browser compability (1) skin-version, (2) JR-core-version, (3) module-version dependent, or dependent on all of these (1-3)?

Can these versions be mapped against the different generations of major browsers in a table, so that we can see at a glance where issues might arise?

And what kinds of issues are likely to be generated by browser incompatability? What breaks down first?

Sorry for the many questions.

Have you asked this member what kind of device he is viewing from? (a phone, a tablet, PC, mac, iOS, laptop...?) Also- a recent version of Safari?
What is meant by "cannot view his Profile page properly" ? What's not showing properly? Does part of the profile page load, or is it a 'page not found' or blank? Does he see any error messages? Can he view it properly via other browsers? Can he view the rest of the site ok in Safari?
I suspect this kind of info is helpful in order to get effective solutions.

As a blanket statement, Jamroom should work on most modern browsers.

From there its anyone's guess. Browsers are supposed to support the WW3 web standards

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standards-compliant

But they all have their own quirks that can cause issues.

Thanks. Above suggestions and info all good... I just need to tread carefully as the person concerned is a very senior and busy person in the field of research communications, and may quickly lose patience with me!

Its not unreasonable to request steps to reproduce it for your self. It is unreasonable to be asked to fix a problem that you can't see to understand.

I have not heard anything further from the account owner concerned, so will call this thread solved. The points learned are: "Jamroom should work on most modern browsers; i.e. those that support the WW3 web standards". Of course, I may have some members in poor countries using ancient operating systems and browsers, but cannot worry about this too much. If someone has access to the internet by any means, they are more likely than not to have access to a modern browser.
