Hi, where can i find the .tpl files that are created when i build a page ?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean here, are you building pages with the SiteBuilder module?

What exactly are you trying to modify?

i would like add a search field on my index page so i want to copy the code from a form builder page i created .

The docs for the Search system are here:

To add a search box to your index.tpl template in your skin you could add
 {jrSearch_form class="form_text" value="Search"}
To get a search form that searches all modules, or you could just search selected modules if you like.
