Not sure where to look but when i follow profiles i create it stays as pending and i get no message about the follow i sent ? Not sure if its because i am logged in as admin or is it like that for all members ?

You've set that profile to "approve followers".

Also, if you are the profile owner you shouldn't even see a follow button.

the approve followers is a setting on in that profiles profile settings form.

can i change it so that by default all follows are auto accepted ?

uncheck the checkbox.
