The Privacy Statement at Jamroom does not go into detail about how private information is collected. It only comments on how private information is used.

This may be related to the question above - do Jamroom sites use cookies?

If they do, where can we control them, as administrators?

And if they do, would it be possible for JR sites to have anything like a "CookieConsent" module used by Drupal?

yes jamroom uses cookies.

Cookies are used to store information about the state of things, like if you upload an image via the Embeded Media Module and you choose to have "Large" as the size, then that will be stored in a cookie so next time you upload an image "Large" will be selected for you.

There is no module like cookieconcent. If you want to replicate what that module does write this in the footer.tpl of your site next to the copyright notice "This site uses cookies, by using this site you agree to have allow us to store information required to make the website work."

Not sure what the EU was thinking (not thinking) when they made that law.

I have tested some international sites that must have the cookie disclaimer. What a waste of time and resources. Michael you guys should create a small module for international sites that require this though. Here is one I worked on for Zayo - http://www.zayo.com/uk/ . You can see it in the lower left.

Yeah this is probably the best idea. Would be pretty easy to make and have it do some sort of popup that has to be accepted. Note however that the EU has rescinded this law and it's going away.

Hmmm... I think Michael's suggested footnote may be adequate for my site for now. Thanks all.
