solved 'Clone Skin' not bringing over custom skin images

Hello!

Just a couple of notes I've spotted on skin cloning. Just cloned a Slate skin, and all goes well, other than it doesn't bring over the custom images from the 'images' tab, although the little notes box on the clone tab suggests it will.

Also (minor note!) in the documentation ( https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/skin-customization/839/creating-your-own-skin), it suggests that the clone skin function will be found in the Tools section - it's now actually in the Developer Tools section....

Its found at:
ACP -> MODULES -> TOOLS -> DEVELOPER TOOLS -> TOOLS -> CLONE SKIN

I've added that to the description to make it more complete, thanks.

The uploaded images should be being moved to the cloned skin too, will check it out. Thanks.

This has been fixed in the latest Developer Tools module - update and you should be good.

Thanks!

Thank you! Can I download that without upgrading to 6? Ironically, I need to clone the skin before I can upgrade to 6, but I can't download module updates until I upgrade.

If not, it's not really a massive problem - I guess I can just re-upload the images manually with the same file names on the cloned skin.

If you change code in a jr prefixed skin via FTP in the file system, then yes, when a new update comes out those changes would be lost. In this case, clone the skin, adjust on your own directory.

If the changes are made via the template editor in the ACP they will not be lost. Use the compare tool to get them in sync.

@iamtimbo, the new version of the tool is only available after the update, so update, THEN clone you skin.

--edit--
You can update all the modules first, then clone your skin, then update all the skins if thats better for whatever reason.

Ah - of course - the skin upgrades are separate to the Core.
