in progress What are "Pending items" if not "Pending - users?

In my ACP dashboard I have constantly "4 pending items" (see first screenshot), but cannot see what they are.

When I go to the dashboard menu tab labelled "Pending", this links to Pending- users, which are currently 0.

So - what kinds of items can Pending refer to if not pending users, and where can we find these items?

Whatever you set to pending.

In most modules you can set the quota config to allow pending check by the admin before the item is CREATED / UPDATED.

eg: blogs:
ACP -> MODULE -> PROFILE -> BLOG -> QUOTA CONFIG -> APPROVAL

--edit--
In your case it looks like you need to run the integrity check.

There is a funny way the Pending Tab in the dashboard functions that used to confuse me at first.
Like I would go to my dashboard and it would show the pending tab with apparently nothing pending, showing no pending users. In actuality there were indeed no pending users, but there was a pending event waiting that doesn't have a Tab for "items" showing the way "users" always has a tab showing. I'd have to actually click on the pending tab again for it to show there was a pending item.
Not sure exactly how it does all that, but I suspect it's the same thing that PJ is referring to above. It gives the impression that there is nothing pending when in fact there are items pending.
This is hard for me to describe until it happens again and I can take screenshots and describe better.

When this happens I wonder if you're being sent to:
YOUR-SITE.com/core/dashboard/pending/m=jrUser

As that would result in the situation described.

The email doesn't take you to USERS - it just takes you to the Pending section of the dashboard - however, if there ARE pending users then that is going to be the "default" tab that is loaded since it is seen as the most "important" tab.

I'll look at updating the email template so it sends you to the correct tab based on what the pending item is.

Thanks!

I think the issue is that if you get a notif. of a pending ITEM (like an event), and you click on the email link, yes it takes you to the pending area /core/dashboard/pending ...but the default TAB of Users is what is presented, even when there are NO pending users...and the Items Tab is not showing at all....giving the impression that nothing is pending.
So then you have to know enough to ignore that and click on the upper tier Pending tab which then brings you to the TWO tabs showing: Users and Items...and you then click on the Items tab and finally you get to see the pending Item.
This is how I 'recall' this happens- can't confirm this exactly until it happens to me again, and my members don't post too many Events that pend approval, so forgive me if I'm not getting it quite right as described above, but it seems to me that's what I wind up doing every time I get a pending item notification. (The pending USER notification link takes me directly to pending user tab, so no problem with that.)

I don't think this is the case in JR6 - I believe you are still on JR5. There was some work done in the pending section for JR6.

Ok, understood. :) It's a bit unclear as to who's on 5 or 6 right now I guess. (tempting to insert a humorous reference here to "Who's on First?", but probably only older Americans would be familiar with it. oops too late, i inserted it. lol)

lol - I knew that :) For some reason the first thing that came to mind was the Three Stooges, so I went with that.

I am in JR6 beta and what Strumelia describes seems to fit still. i.e. unless there is an actual pending item other than a user, only the Pending - Users will show because it is the default, even if there are no actual pending users.

This still leaves me with my 4 pending mystery things in the dashboard panel (I only know them by the number, and cannot see what they are, and they are still there after running a default-style integrity check (which omits certain checks).

Is there a specific integrity check option I should select and use to clear this up?

I've got some updates in for the next JR6 beta (tomorrow) that should get things working smoother in pending items. It also includes a "cleanup" for bad pending items (which is what you are seeing) if you check the "Repair Modules" option in the Integrity Check.

This is not out NOW but coming in tomorrow's beta release.

Just an update that the pending system has been updated for the next core beta release - we have some last minute testing we have to do, so the new beta should be out tomorrow morning.

I have a similar issue and I think that if you have a module created by Aparna the number of the pending items belonging to these modules does not decrease even if you approve them.
