solved Upgrading to Jamroom 6

I am very keen to use the beta of Jamroom 6 released today. I am just wondering though......is there anything I need to do prior to launching a major version upgrade? Do I need to clone my skin etc?

No need to clone your skin - it's not going to be affected by the upgrade. Just make sure after you upgrade that you run an integrity check - there's some new DB changes that need to be in place and they'll get setup in an integrity check.

k....just upgraded....went smoothly except that the screen went white after the upgrade. I refreshed the browser and all was well. Also it took two attempts to get the module updates to load. First problem I notice after upgrading can be seen in the screenshots below. As you can see many timeline entries say 'Array' in the text field and nothing else?

That would be part of the new Timeline updates - give it time to update your existing timeline entries (which is done by a queue worker) then reset caches - let me know if that helps.

Fixed.....many , many thanks :) Everything else about the upgrade went smoothly and I am very excited about the new capabilities that Jamroom 6 opens up. I have one other question, which is more of a clarification really SO I'll open a new thread for that. Otherwise, the Jamroom team strikes again...a smooth transition to a whole new world of possibilities :)

Awesome - glad to hear the upgrade went fairly smooth. We knew going in to the release that the Timeline would be a bit of an issue, since the entire framework for actions has changed quite a bit. We knew that timeline templates would need to be updated before working properly. I spent quite a bit of time trying to make it backwards compatible, and still work with the new setup, but ended up having to "bite the bullet" and make the change. The good news is the new Timeline framework is set up much better to scale and give us the features we need to do some cool stuff.
