Hello,
I want to move my page from Ning to Jamroom. I created an account in Jamroom (hosted 7 trial days).
What do I have to do now? I'm confused:
- I need 5 Gig Ning Site? https://www.jamroom.net/ning-to-jamroom/serviceshop
- Or I need Ningla skin, or import Ning, etc? https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/bundle/18/ning-to-jamroom
- Or other things?
Another question: There is a Spanish version for Jamroom?
Thank you for your help
Fran

Hi Fran - Welcome to Jamroom
First question - Is yours a Ning2 or a Ning3 site? If its Ning2 then yes, it can be imported to Jamroom in full. If Ning3, only your members can be imported (this is a Ning issue as they do not provide a full archive of Ning3 sites). If you're happy for me to check your Ning site out, let me have its URL and admin email and password and I can check it out, and also assess its size. I would then be able to advise you which import service to purchase for us to fully import the site to Jamroom (assuming its a Ning2 site).

If you use our hosting where you have setup the free trial, no further immediate purchases are necessary as you have free access to all Jamroom modules and Skins (including Ningja). The only ongoing fees would be our monthly hosting cost.

All Jamroom skins support multiple languages, and several of them do include Spanish language files. If however you do choose to use a skin without Spanish support, it is relatively straightforward for a Spanish/Englist speaker to translate and Jamroom includes to documentation and tools for you to do this.
Hope this helps
Paul

also they can make moving my page ning with version 2.0?
how long it had since hired the pay version?
any restrictions to not provide service because of the content of the page?

Sorry - Are @hispavox and @novelera-romantica the same person? If so, let's just help the one of you.

Hi Paul, and thanks :)

1. My user is only hispavox. I do not know novelera-romantica

2. My Ning version is Ning 2.0

3. I used the Ning Network Archiver ( http://www.ning.com/help/?p=5214) to download the page to my PC, and I think my page are 700 MBs.

4. I can tell you the login and password of the page if necessary, in private.

My English is very bad, sorry... :)

Hi Fran - Send your Ning site address and admin email and password to support[at]jamroom[dot]net
That will create a private ticket and we'll continue this there.
Thanks
Paul

Thank you very much.

We've been testing a chat module that Brian has created for the last month or two and it should be going into beta soon, so the answer is yes, but not at this time.

Hope this helps!

Note that Ning do not have their own chat software, but rely on third party chat scripts, so no 'chats' are included in their archive. Please checkout this document for information on exactly what is in the Ning archive, and what of it is importable to Jamroom - https://www.jamroom.net/ning-to-jamroom/documentation/ning-to-jamroom/3644/ning-2-3-to-jamroom-what-you-need-to-know
