I removed cometchat from my site a long time ago- but I see it in every integrity check in several places in the database- is there a way for someone with a healthy irrational fear of database editing to remove it safely?

You will want to contact Comet Chat - they should be able to tell you the tables it uses.

Thanks!

Ok thanks...but I will pass and just leave it
My experience with cometchat has taken years off my life already- would rather live with it and have my lower teeth pulled at the same time than to deal with their support :)

I have the chat installed on another site and removed it from this site ( because it would not work) I could not get a response at all to the problems i was having for at least a week- then I started making youtube videos showing screenshots of how COMETCHAT did not work and explaining how their "support" would not respond...then posted that link all over internet and in comments on other youtube videos...THEN they decided to answer me.....took maybe 3 weeks of them working on it with me coming over to office at 2-3 am during the night so I could try the things they wanted me to try etc....in the end they got it fixed but I dont feel like after spending a couple hundred bucks with them that i should have to go through all that BS to JUST GET A REPLY from "support"...then have to assist weeks in the early morning hours to help them troubleshoot...
I bought a working finished chat program and what i got was some beta crap that didnt work and feel like they OWE ME hundreds of $$ for all i had to do to get it working...
Yeah Just take my teeth without gas even...I wont mess with cometchat

FWIW I had some various glitches with my Cometchat early on when I first got it installed, and again after a chat update many months later, but my overall experience with their support was not so bad.
They always responded to my communications within 24 hrs (they are in the opposite time zone) and they mostly did perform some action every day on my glitches, one by one, until everything got sorted out. I have not had any chat problems for about 7 months now. Needless to say though, I'm not much looking forward to when i'll need to update it again.
Curtis, that sounds awful, very glad I haven't had trouble like that with CC!

ACP -> DEVELOPER -> DEVELOPER TOOLS -> TOOLS -> DATABASE ADMIN

Check the checkboxes in the right hand pane that have 'comet' in them, then scroll to the bottom and click the 'drop' button.

GONE.
