I've been wondering if there is a way to fix this issue I am having with video embeds from youtube. I have an RSS feed on my front page from one of my most popular groups. They use a lot youtube embeds. Instead of coming in as videos, they are coming in as video coding. Is there a way to fix it. Here is a screenshot

This really depends on what is in the feed - I can say that the existing Feed reader module will not "automatically" handle media items that are in the feed (which really goes against what RSS is about, but that's for another time).

What is the URL to the feed you are importing?

The feed is: http://thenewstalkers.com/feed/group_discuss/limit=100/group_id=70

The URL is: http://thenewstalkers.com/johnrussell/group/70/the-nt-music-group

And as a footnote, when I tried the first link in the feed, I got a "this page doesn't exist" message , but it surely does. The second one works.

Yeah - there is a ton of junk your users are embedding (probably from cutting and pasting into the editor) - make sure and update to the latest RSS Feed Reader module - there were updates that came out today to try and make things look better. Let me know if that helps.

Hi Brian,
My RSS is up to date and I checked and there is no extraneous code in there, in there first two. Only the jamroom coding for the youtubes, so it has to be something else.

Thats not going to work. javascript is very picky about where it loads from, it will get annoyed and stop working if you try to load stuff from a slightly different url.

javascript views www.somesite.com and somesite.com as different urls and wont load content from one onto the other.

By putting a javascript player into an rss feed and trying to display it on completely different domains its never going to work.

The way players get into embedded into other domains is via iframe's usually.

--edit--
If this is for a sitebuilder block, you shouldn't need to go through RSS feed to get there. Just use an "Item List" widget.

You could display youtube videos using the rss feed from the page by using the free version of RSS Include
https://www.rssinclude.com/my_rssboxes/create_new_box

On the bottom of that page is a RSS aggregrator specific for youtube videos...not sure how you would mix content though
