solved Upgrade from JR4 To Jamroom 5 Now all of my vault files are lost!

I have recently used your service to upgrade from jamroom 4 to 5 ,

I have recently subscribed for your VIP package as it seemed to make sense as a good solution to go from Jamroom 4 to 5 So I also opted in for your migration and upgrade service.

But I have to say I am really disappointed with the outcome as Now ALL of my vault files are no longer for sale and seem to be missing from jamroom 5 completely, so now when a customer purchases a track all from my site all they get is the hifi sound clip which I used in Jamroom 4 ( and in my case this was only a 2 minute clip )

I have over 477 songs on my site and this is totally unacceptable and despite contacting your VIP support this issue has simply been frobbed off.

At this moment in time I am seriously considering the easy option which is to cancel my vip hosting with you and change my dns to point back to my old host showing Jamroom 4

Can someone please help as my sites reputation has now been seriously damaged as a result and I need to make a decision fast.

Thanks
Brian

I've just checked your database and media folders on your server and all priced audio items do seem to be there with appropriate files. Can you give me examples as to which audio items are giving problems?
Thanks

Hi Paul, Thanks for your response

All of the vault files from my JR4 installation are missing in JR5 or do not show in the customers My Purchases if a customer buys a related item as in JR4 .

In my old installation I used to manually make a 2 minute clip and upload to hi fi tab

And the file for sale ( which was the full version of the song ) in the vault , in JR 5 the vault files do not exist with the purchased song.

Where have they gone?

Here is a video I made years ago ( not in HD but it may give you an idea how songs my old jr4 were uploaded and made for sale )

How to upload your songs on junglist download dot com

Can you point me to a couple of audio items that were for sale in your JR4 system, and are not now, or have issues?
Also note that any unique JR4 vaults items (not linked to a song or video) are imported to JR5 as File items. Is it maybe these you think are missing?
Thanks
Pa

We do our very best to respond to all support tickets in under 24 hours, and I believe we have done so with your tickets.

I believe part of the issue here is that JR5 works differently than JR4 in regards to "vault items" - there is no "vault" in JR5. Items that are for sale will be in the profile's media directory, and when a user purchases the file they will get the ORIGINAL file that was uploaded.

Let me know if that helps.

Sure, most of the songs that do not have ( 320 ) or wav in the title as I have had to recently upload and replace my old jr4 soundclips for full songs in jr5:

For examples of what I mean see below and my attached image:
all of these songs and tons more are from Jr4 which had full songs in the vault:

now in jr5 If a customer purchases anyone of these songs they will receive a sound clip not a full song:

So basically what your saying is I now have to re upload 477 songs individually using the audio tab which will take me months or is there a quick solution?

I don't believe I said that in my response. The JR4 -> JR5 import module will import the vault files and make them available properly in JR5, so they should be there.

Thanks for the URLs - we will check it out.

As I have said, all audio files are there and the JR5 database is correct and has the pricings imported from JR4. Please point me to some of the JR5 songs that are not showing the pricing that you think should, or the ones that you have issues with. I can then check them out to see what the problem is.
Thanks

Just an FYI that is NOT normal. in JR4 the stream was automatically "clipped" at a specific seconds length (default 60) so there was no need to hand-truncate your files. By hand truncating your files, when the JR4 importer imports the files it expects the HIFI file to be a "real" MP3 file.

I know that the JR4 importer DOES take the vault file and run it through a conversion process, so I could be wrong - but this is a red flag to me.

I'll have to confirm with Paul, but this could be the root cause of the issue you are seeing.

I get what you are saying but we cant just dump the vault files in the conversion process which is why we are here now.

I cant quite remember why I did that I think I recall not being happy the preset auto clip times.

But the Vault was where the actual file being sold was kept so at the time it worked fine , I also used to sell bundles in the vault which are now also gone from the new sales,

I think what we need here is a way to link the old JR4 vault files so that they deliver with the sale in JR5 some how. If you could do this then all would be awesome , The vault feature was priceless

JR5 is amazing and packed with new goodies but loosing my vault files is a major set back for me.

Surely you code masters can improvise something to save me having to re upload 455 songs all over again? If this can be done I would even be willing to pay

Is your JR4 site still accessible? Send me the url, admin and FTP logins and I'll see what can be done.
Thanks

Contact us via support ticket - that goes to all of us and is how this should be handled. Note that Paul is out until this evening but should be able to help out as soon as he can.

Thanks!
