Just starting moving my site ( AmeriCymru ) from Ning. A lot of work to do but I am amazed by the possibilities and potential of the Jamroom platform.

Two questions:-

1. Can I set the PayPal Buy it Now button so that it is possible for non logged in members to purchase from Profile pages. At the moment I am being told that I have to log in.

2. Trying to create a File Description field using Form Designer. It does not display on the page. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? ( See attached screenshots )

This isn't possible with the PayPal Buy It Now module - the reason is that it does NOT use IPN, and therefore the user has to be logged in so it knows which account to add the items to.

Note that is in the file/update screen - not file/create - make sure you look at the "update" form for an existing file and you should see it. Everything on your screenshot looks good.

Hope this helps!

That's correct - Jamroom is "template" based, which means you will want to ADD in and customize your template to put the content of the new field in the template.

So in your ACP -> Files -> Templates you'll want to modify the "item_detail.tpl" file and add:

{$file_description}

In where you want it to show.

Let me know if that helps.

You've put it outside the div, but it should still show. Did you reset caches? Make sure you've got Developer Mode enabled (ACP -> Developer -> Developer Tools -> Global Config -> Developer Mode).

I am now running in developer mode and I have reset caches. I also moved it inside the div. Still no display. Is there something else I am not doing right?

No - that's how it works. Have you added content to that form field? Try adding some text around it - i.e.

This is the Description: {$file_description}

And if you see the "This is the Description" part but NOT the content it means either the variable name is WRONG or you've not added anything into that field for the item.

Also - move the code INSIDE the closing div.

Moved the code inside the closing div. Emptied caches ( browser and server ) several times. I have added content to the file description field for both the items on this page BUT nothing displays?

Not sure what to do next.

On my phone now so sorry for being terse but that URL is actually the item_list.tpl - sorry - edit that and add your code in and it should show.

Or view the file details for one of your files and it will show.

Is the template "active" in the template section? Make sure a check mark is in "active" and then scroll down and save.

Got it :) It wanted {$item.file_description} in the template and not {$file_description} which I copied from the comment above. Working fine now :)

Was scrolling down reading this thread thinking "it needs to be $item.file_description, that'll make it work!!" only to find at the end that you'd worked it out for yourself :-)
Well done, and sorry for the mis-information.
