Performance check

I just create my Jamroom-site, so I bought an inexpensive server. I see a lot of unused server resources. But I got the answer: Jamroom will run very slowly on your server - check out hosting alternatives.

- Server Info -
Server CPU: 3.29 GHz
Server RAM: 2GB
- Performance Results -
Processor: 0.33
Database: 537.97
Filesystem: 1.06
Total Score: 15
Memory used: 23% 463.5MB of 2GB
Disk usage: 6% 7.94GB of 144.11GB
CPU count: 8@ 3.29 GHz 0.01
5 minute load: 0.00, 0.01, 0.02
Why the results of the tests have given such an answer? What are the criteria determined by the result? What kind of server resources is not enough?

can you take a screenshot of the performance check and upload it here.

Here's a screenshot of mine running on Jamroom Hosting
The basis for comparison of your system is
Quote: Baseline is a XEON @ 2.8GHz, 1 GB RAM and Fast SSD Disk

--edit--
Looking more closely at your numbers, its your database that is slow:
Database: 537.97

--edit edit--
Got some docs up on it here:

If your using a Jamroom Hosting server provided by us, we can help out as it shouldn't be that slow.
But if its your own server or provided by a separate hosting company then that's a question for them.

If you're running your own server, check out this guide put together by @brian

Michael,
I buy the VPS.

I understand it. Just maybe you have any idea about the reasons why my database is so slow. I'll look for a solution to configure my server.

Your database score is the lowest Performance Check database score we've ever received for Jamroom - something is horribly misconfigured in your MySQL if it is that slow OR your hosting provider is severely limiting the number of queries you are allowed to run per second. Something is wrong...

run mysyqltuner.pl your database sux ass
my recent run
note i am spending alot on a dedicated server
i also have tuned it over and over upgraded to mariadb from mysql
upgraded to litspeed from apache
fine tuned the database, and litespeed tweaking them for maximum performance

i would start by every 24 hours run mysqltuner.pl
edit my.cnf with the reccomenations once you got it fairly good run it every 48 hours

once it no longer shows recomendations except maye optimize tables and increase join buffers then just leave it be maybe run the tuner every few weeks to see if any more tunings possible

but

before you bother with that upgrade to a decent server you get what you pay for jamroom or hivelocity.net are both great options
if u go with hivelocity..who i use i recomend u request a special configuration
use a ssd drive for /home/
but a large sata drive for /home/yourjamroomaccountspace/public_html/data/media/
mounting a sata at that location (yourjamroomaccountspace should be replaced by the account name your jr sites under) will save u a ton of money you can get a 2 terabyte sata for like 1/4 the price of a 500 meg ssd
since media uses up your most drive space , keep it on a sata drive the site will still load very fast off the ssd

and yes i broke the 3000 mark!!

whoah
19????????
yikes i think my lowest was 68 on a crappy server i switched emediately, got it to like 680, switched again, on hivelocity i started out around 1500
then tuned tuned tuned till i just broke the 3000 barrier

thats like causing a sonic boom for the 1st time..kinda exciting

your cpu loads low as hell memory loads low considering how lil ram you got your disk space use is low

id recomend upgrade to this server

i can give you my my.cnf but i have 32 gigs ram, youd have 16, so youd want to cut all the buffers and caches in 1/2
you can go with a smaller ssd and a 1 tb sata for media that gives you room to grow
i do highly recomend mariadb, till its tuned u can have out of control cpu use but once you tweak it the cpu use is much lower and performance is great

if price is too high i can help u customize a serrver to your needs
u can go vps certainly too
if you dont expect a big or high trafic site might as well go vps

the important thing is tuning your database

Dim, if your site is not gigantic, you could go with one of Jamroom's more affordable servers: https://www.jamroom.net/hosting
and let them maintain the server for you. I have about 26GB of stuff and I'm on JR's 48GB hosting plan...I almost always get a database score of over 1000, which is just fine for my site with 5000 members. Most importantly to me, I never have to do ANYTHING- it's always running great, been 6 months now. :)

I first started building my Jamroom site on Arvixe hosting...it was cheap- only $10/month, but was so HORRIBLY SLOW, with poor service. A huge headache. Thank goodness my site wasn't live yet! But even with Arvixe, my lowest score ever was 127. But i remember how frustrating it was to wait for a full minute just to go from one webpage of my site to another...I can really sympathize with what you are experiencing right now.

Note that several queries were being skipped in beta 1 which is likely why you've got such a high score - see where it is when 5.3.0b2 comes out shortly - I have that corrected. You'll still likely be really high, but not sure if you'll cross 3,000 or not...
