Is there a way I can make it easier for people to send private messages? I'm currently just counting on comet chat instead, which is a really lame work around. There's gotta be a setting somewhere.

Can you explain more? Iirc it's only three clicks to get to the message form?

You can only message your followers, otherwise people would just signup to spam!!

yeah, that would be great if I could have imported my friends data. 8 years of friends and PMs are gone. That was not mentioned in the migration info I read.


This is what I was afraid of. I have to get all of them to 'follow' each other again...

(normally happy guy is pretty frustrated with this transfer so far)

Since Ning does not allow the archiving and export of private messages OR member passwords (for obvious privacy reasons), unless you stay on Ning forever there is no way in the world for a ning network owner to transfer members' private messages from Ning to any other platform. Scott, have you deleted your Ning site already?

Sorry to see you're frustrated - unfortunately there are things we can't get from Ning in their export (it's not included) and private messages is one of those pieces.
