Spell check issues

It seems that all the discussions about spell check are closed and with no resolution. I am using the text editor with tinyMCE and my spell check doesn't work. Is there a way to fix this? Was there a work around or paid service. The article here:
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/using-jamroom/31343/spellchecker-installing-for-tinymcewhat-am-i-doing-wrong
seems to have no conclusion on how to fix this.

Perrie, that was the first thread about spellcheck.

Then, read this one for where I got it (and copy/paste) working:
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/my_posts/32580/how-to-copy-n-paste-text-on-jamroom

and lastly read this one:
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/using-jamroom/32779/got-copy-paste-and-spellcheck-working-in-my-tinymce-editor

By doing what I did, you'll get not only your browser's own spellchecker functioning, but also the right-click copy/paste that most folks are used to having. I did not lose any function that was significant to me by implementing this. Plus, it costs nothing to do.

Strumelia,

You are the queen bee! I did exactly what you said, and I got the both pesky problems taken care of! I had given up with the cut and paste, but my beta testers were a bit bummed about it. Now I have both of them fixed! You are the best!!! :)

So happy to hear that Perrie! And I'm tickled to know that you are in there editing your template codes! hey, Who would have thought you and I would be even attempting such things when we were both in Ning? Whoa, look out... ;D

Hey i didn't 'invent' the copy/paste/spellcheck fix. But I did post a summary of 'how to do it'- for DUMMIES, like me...so as to make it easier for other dummies coming along later on- like you! lololol Glad I was able to facilitate it.

But isn't it UTTERLY FAB to have Spellcheck and Copy/Cut/Paste right-click all back again? Feels so normal and good. :)

Cool tidbit- this morning a longtime member of my site who is online-clueless posted that she was dreading moving to our new Jamroom site from our old ning site, and that when she got there it was daunting to get her bearings...but that now after three months on the new site she just LOVES it and feels very comfy and happy- and she said everything seems to work more smoothly and quickly too. That's all saying a LOT because she really is not savvy online at all and she gets freaked out by changes.

P.S. "queen bee"? did you know that i keep bees?

I have to say that I did do a little coding when I was on Ning, but never did I think I would be working in the depths of the templet codes. I am very impressed by your knowledge base you have here on Jamroom. I must confess, that I screwed up a few times, where to put that little snippet of code for the spell check and lost the editor like 3 times... but I just kept plugging away till I found the perfect little spot. And it is wonderful to have the Spellcheck and the Copy/Cut/Paste right-click back! Funny how little things excite me, LOL!

Good to know that your members are adapting. Things are so bad at Ning with slowness and server failures.

As soon as the new site is up and running, I am going to make a big fuss about it on Creators. What Paul has helped me do is take the things I liked from Ning (for community aspects like the forum and groups), and make them Jamrooms own.. and I think this will inspire a whole new bunch of people who are sick of the mess there. Even Bernard will be shocked at how well my new Jamroom site works! My beta testers did a great job of finding the issues and now it is purring like a kitten, other than the mobile issue. And they also found the site not hard to use. I am going to make some video "how to" guides, to aid in any questions.

I didn't know you kept bees. How interesting! As a child, my uncle who had a chicken egg farm, kept bees, and I became fascinated by them. My only problem is that I am deathly allergic to all insect stings/bites, so no bee keeping for me... but they are very cool! And who doesn't love honey!

Perrie, right before you announce anything on Creators, contact me privately as I can give you some pointers so that your posts will be seen in the most effective places on Creators...there is a little trick to it most folks don't know. You will also benefit from a couple of tips I can give you when you are planning to actually shut down your Ning site- be careful!- write me first and I can help you know what to be wary of when you go to do it.

"Things are so bad at Ning with slowness and server failures."- are you saying this is all going on right now with your live ning site? It wasn't quite that bad yet when I left ning in mid June, 3 months ago. Has it worsened since then?

Strumelia,

Thanks for the your advice in advance. I will be sure to contact you before D day!

Yes, things have become terrible there. The page loads are so slow, the site crashes at least once a month, odd glitching like writing a comment and only part of it show up (or none of it).. I could go on...

So yes, things have gotten worse.
