how do i mention people when making posts or tag other users ?

If you precede the username with an '@' it will be linked to the profile page.

I know that is what I did @paul I tried it with a bunch of names even my own but no links ?
Something I haven't turned on yet ?

i know but on my site in my timeline i try to make posts and tag members in it and it does not work ?

Make sure you have the 'Convert @ Tags ' enabled for the quota in the Core=>Quota settings.

I haven't seen this "not work" - you will need to give us more info to go. Where are you placing the mention at?

If you have the editor enabled on timeline the mentions don't work.

Hello.

I´ve got a question to the comment system, how its work.

For example in facebook:
when you wrote an answere to a comment, the comment starter get an info and all users who wrote to this comment too.
If i wrote a comment and wrote a user name in the comment, so that special user get also an info about the comment, also he didn´t wrote in that comment a word.

Is it possible that jamroom can do it like this for example like facebook, or another way?
What is the function with "@" for the name in jamroom?

ok so if i use editor i should just ignore the mentions feature all together ?
