Hey Guys

Just a couple of things that would be nice if they were added to a default aparna module.

Module search capability on pages.
Post later option (ie blog).

Hi Gary - Thanks for those. The search could be added to the default templates but not sure about the 'post later' option as that is getting a bit specific and Aparna meant to be a general purpose tool to create a base module so that you can then use the form designer and template editor to make it what you want.
Unless I'm mis-understanding what you suggest?

I am assuming the majority of modules created with aparna are simple content posting modules and having the option to post later built in would be a big thing for those.

Perhaps a "jrDelayIt" module that allows other modules stuff to be delayed would be better. The blog has a post later feature, but the audio doesnt, the gallery doesnt, the poll doesnt.

If its the kind of thing a bunch of modules could use, then perhaps it deserves its own module to stop them from needing to include that.

Yes that might be a much better option.

Another nice option Paul would be to give aparna modules out of the box the option of allowing just the profile owner to post, or allow a quota setting for which quotas can post to it. A bit like with the Issue Tracker. This would open aparna to quickly crearing site wide modules.

Thoughts?

aparna created modules have a quota config tab. Is this something different?

NEW MODULE -> Quota Config -> ALLOWED ON PROFILE

Allows users in that quota to create that content type.

Yes, the issue tracker allows you to set it so other people can post on your tracker for example.

That is what I am referring to here, the ability to allow other people to post content on someones aparna module.

Hey Guys

To my display I discovered these arent setup with support for search out of the box, for the purpose of one module on my site in the end I cloned the blog module and added things to that.

If possibe it would be great to have those hooks in place from the outset, but if not how about another lesson in the Udemy development course and how to enable Search for Aparna modules?

EDIT
Scrap that it appears a later created module on dev site works with search, so maybe an update to Aparna after I made the first instance fixed this.

You can add any fields you want for any DS module to the "additional search fields" search -> global config textarea. So just add the DS keys you want to be searched in your Aparna module to that list.

Hope this helps!

Thinking on this some more yes you can do that on your own site but if you want to distribute a module with Search functionality it would be nice to get this included.
