1 what images are included in the "user accounts" module
2 whats a good max size to set , would it difer based on modules
3 why no forums resize many of my old imported forums posts the imatges are way too big
4 i still have plenty of media space so would it be best to hold off till im low on space
5 my main reason for wanting to resize inmages wouldnt be space as much as the old forums/blogs that have way too big of images that push text off the screen.. paul at 1 point said hed look into an afrt6er import way to resize them and make them responsive but i dont think it was ever done..so if i could limit forum images widths id like to

or would there be an easy css way to set a max img width in forums and blogs
like 50%

Hi SE
The image resizer only works on images uploaded with JR items, i.e.. Audio, Blog, Event, File, Gallery, Group, MySites, Profile, Store and User modules. It does not work on images embedded in comments and posts (as imported from Ning, say) as these are referenced images and somewhat out of JR's control!!
Difficult to recommend a maximum size as peoples' perception of image quality varies. However, this tool was recently used on a photography based site and a max size of 1536px was deemed by their expert as sufficient and the process reduced their disk usage by about 70%, which was pretty significant (YMMV, of course)!!
Remember though, that once images have been resized, there's no going back.

That's NOT normal. Should be jumping along speedily from line to line.
Some of my modules took a half hour to go through several thousand. But your numbers are way bigger.
Mine is a music, not photography site, and yesterday I ran the tool over everything, with a 1536px setting (by coincidence I picked the same setting)...and it meant in the end my JR server was now 60% full rather than 75% full. Great tool, makes me real happy! :)

"is there an easy css way to limit the image sizes in forum discussions and blogs to 50% width"
- Man, I would LOVE something like that as well! People embed HUGE images into their forum posts sometimes....highly annoying knowing we'll all have to pay for their unlimited excesses.

That should be quite possible with a line of css to limit the size of the photo but not the actual data size of the photo ie mb size. I did do this once before in a previous incarnation of my jamroom site. Will try it again so will have something to show you.

Any error messages anywhere? I was processing 30K images when testing without issue. I'm guessing its a memory thing. The function allocates 1GB for itself (line 336 of jrImage/index.php) Maybe try temporarily increasing that to 2GB?

I've ran it a few times now on various sites without issue. I'll test it again later today.

it could i supose have to do with the memory issue and the fact that i had to reload the page andresrtart the resizer like a dozen times but... it was literaly like 1/4 to 1/3 of the images were all whacky
some only 1/2 loaded, some loaded like in a corner with blank space all around it, and a few even seemed to have the top of 1 image, a blank space in middle and the bottom of a difwerent image

i defcided for now since i have plenty of space im not going to mess with it at all
i would recomen d a higher or no memory limit let it use the servers memory limit settings

and build in more error checking
