i get this error when i click embed
{"notices":[{"type":"cri","text":"Unable to copy modules\/jrConstructionKit\/templates\/tab_ajax_sbconstructionkit.tpl to template cache directory: data\/cache\/jrCore"}]}

im attempting to clear the jcore cache to see if that fixes it
since i had a simular error the iother day the forums would not load since too many files were in tmp
since then i added a cron to clear out tmp files over 4 hours old every hour

im thinking this is a simular error where old cache files are preventing new ones from being written

First thing to check is is that file at:
modules/jrConstructionKit/templates/tab_ajax_sbconstructionkit.tpl

The only time I see that error is when the file is not there. Check that out first.

The new site builder module takes over from the old set of 4 modules.

To activate it make sure the BETA channel is on for the marketplace. Install it. Then run the integrity check.

That will:
* disable the old module.
* copy the old modules content into the new modules structure.

That should be all that need doing.

If you need to revert to the old system:
* disable the new 'site builder core' module.
* activate jrMenu
* activate jrPanels
* activate jrWidgets
* (and costruction kit if you need it.)

I'm not seeing tab_ajax_sbconstructionkit.tpl as being included in the latest version of the Construction Kit module. there is a tab_jrConstructionKit.tpl though.

If you need the jrConstructionKit because the new Site Builder Core won't work, I can zip it up and send it over.

The function for the header_desktop_menu.tpl file for the new system is this function:
<div id="menu_content">
    <nav id="menu-wrap">
        <ul id="menu">

            {* User menu entries *}
            {jrSiteBuilder_menu}

That will output your menu items.

For slate to keep the blue bar it looks like this:

{jrMenu_display active=$menu_url}
<div id="jrmenu_content">
    <nav id="jrmenu-wrap">
        <ul id="jrmenu">
            {jrSiteBuilder_menu}
        </ul>
    </nav>
</div>

where {jrMenu_display active=$menu_url} is the old system.

ok everytimei try to upgrade it messes my site up
front page gets messed up completely..everything lost
the other pages just formatting
when i downgrade disabling the sitebuilder core the menu gets messed up i only have acp and my name
search and cart

after reseting cache the rest comes back

when i 1st tried installingthe sitebuilder core i didnt run integrity check i just clicked sitebuilder it said the page needed to be converted i clicked ok and that wiped it all out to a blank page

tomorow ill attempt to copy each widgets code
and recrerate the front oage from scratch
but then ill still need to find all the css changes i need to make
possibly many are cause i used custom classes that are now erased

do you have a dev site online where i can see the "messed up"? I would hope that its possible to build the necessary stuff into the import script so it doesn't get messed up.

Sorry for the hassle.

Hi Guys,

I tried upgrading to the new site builder on my development site yesterday, and I also saw my previous menu entries disappear.

That site is using only one skin the Ningja, and has no mods, so the issue seems to be inherent.

The development site is in Jamroom hosting here - http://owendoorg.jamroomhosting.com/home

Ah - I tried again following your instructions "to the letter". This time my menu survived.

I think the issue was I disabled the old modules myself before instead of letting the integrity check do it.

However, it seems like content I made with the old system is missing even though the pages are still linked and available - investigating.

Hi Michael,

What I found was that a page I made with the old system was not showing when logged in (would flash briefly and revert to edit view).

Closing the site builder didn't work, it remain the only view possible except for a brief flash of the saved view on refresh.

Then I made a new menu tab, and somehow doing that made the old page on a different tab work correctly.

Now I can switch from edit view to saved view by closing the site builder.

However, I am confused about the numbering on the editors (see attached).

Are they 3 different version levels or simply an indication of what column the same version of the editor is being used in?

numbering is the widget number
in old sysatem if udidnt name it it would say widget 65434 or something
i think if u add multiple widgets to a container it would be 1.0 1.1 1.2 etc
but not certain onthat

Yep - that's correct. You can "stack" widgets in a container, and if you don't add a title then this let's you know the order.

I won't deny this has been tricky - part of the issue was that the "old" site builder was a little more "loose" in what could be done, and that's not always translatable into the new system, so there's definitely rough edges we're working through.

Yeah I got your info SE, just having time freeing up time sorry. Didnt get to it today. Try again tomorrow.

Ken Rich:
...Now I can switch from edit view to saved view by closing the site builder....
I've seen that happen before if I've added something to the page then hit F5 to refresh instead of using the 'View Changes' button in the menu.

The session still thinks your in edit mode so puts you there. You can get out of it by editing something then clicking the 'View Changes' button or by deleting the page and starting again.
