URL Scanner setup

I've read the other thread related to the issue @perrie had - and having added 'object, param' to the allowed html tags, enabled URL Scanning in the Core Quota Config, and made sure that the Editor Embedded Media and Image Upload modules are set (I believe) correctly, I'm not seeing the URLs being scanned - they're still just URLs...

Any thoughts?

I don't believe you need to configure Allowed HTML Tags for URL Scanner - it will "just work". Make sure you have gone into the Core -> Quota Config and put a checkbox in the "Convert Media URLs (UrlScan)" option in Text Formatters for ALL your quotas and save.

Let me know if that helps.

Hi Brian - the only option I have that is not checked is Allow BBCode - they're all active apart from that...

So you see the option in the text formatters and it is checked? What is the URL you are trying to get the scanner to work with? Let's try it here:
Community Content Management Website System: jamroom 5

Edit - I see it working here, so I know it is working.

The link is working here, can you give us a link to the page you don't see it working on?

That's weird - the URL Scanner is a pretty simple setup, so as long as it is enabled it should be working. Try this just to be sure:

- go into the Core quota config and UNcheck the URL scanner text formatter option and save
- check the "Apply to all" and then CHECK the url scanner text formatter and save
- reset caches

See if that works - if it doesn't then we would need to check it out on your site to figure out what is going on.

Thanks - got your login and am now logged in, but am getting:

"You do not have the proper privileges to perform that action!"

When trying to edit the forum post so I can check it out. What's weird though is that as the master admin that message should never come through as there is a jrCore_is_admin() check on the function that produces that error. That tells me there is some sort of session issue going on at a lower level as well - so something is not right.

I would need your FTP login (or SSH if you have it) so I can try to get to the bottom of what is going on. I won't be able to do it right now as I am heading out of the house here in about 5 minutes, but will check it out as soon as I can.

Thanks!

In trying out the Profile Admin issue (from the other thread) I also got that message - not sure - don't get it when I'm a normal site user. I'll send the ftp info now - no rush!
