investigating unable to delete groups I created

I had a few groups archived when I left ning and now want to delete them from JR.

I go to the group's individual page.

I click the trash.

Pop up says "Are you sure you want to delete this?"

I say Yes.

It runs a moment and takes me back to the main group page /group

The group is still listed.

I click on it and it takes me back to the individual group page.

I go through the cycle again.

I've tried it on a couple of groups 3 times through the cycle and I cant seem to delete it. These ARE by the way groups I have created, but still, as Administrator I should be able to delete them.

As far as I know, I have admin powers to do this--plus the pop up says "are you sure?"

I looked under group quotas to see if there was anything about deleting a group, but no luck.

Does this delete function ALSO not work if you go to your profile page and click in YOUR groups and try the trash cans from that location?: http://yoursite.com/yourprofilename/group

I have just tested deleting a group here with both caching enabled and disabled, and I'm not seeing any issues.

When you say the group is still "listed" - where do you see it listed at?

Thanks for the ideas... been there, tried it unfortunately.

I cleared my cache and rebooted as well and the same thing is occurring. It is also occurring when I try to click the "update" button for groups. Here are the 4 screenshots that show what I am doing
1. go to group's main page
2. click on group
3. click on delete
4. answer "yes" - I am sure I want to delete it
5. am returned to the main page of all groups again and it's still listed. hit refresh, hit Shift F5. scream a bit, say a prayer, check again on groups page and it's still listed.
6. rinse and repeat

Now that I can try to update the comments features on groups, I have tried using the update gear button as well, but am getting the same response.

1. click the update button
2. be sent back to my main groups page /groups.
