With many html5 players I have came across I've noticed many do not play in the default browser of my cell phone. I have the samsung galaxy s 3. I've also learned that how some developers get around that is creating an ogg script where once the mp3 is uploaded there a button to create/convert it to ogg just for mobile. I'm not sure why ogg works for mobile but is this possible to do with jamroom ? Any updates coming to get that working ? Or a work around for the songs to play on my mobile phone ?? I'm creating apps for my websites and if it cant play music on mobile phones theres no point in what I want to do. Please help.

Jamroom allows the upload of many different formats, then converts those formats to .mp3 to make them playable on the web.

check out the formats here, .ogg is one of them:
your-site.com/audio/admin/quota

Im not certain on conversion in the other direction. Might have to wait for brian to answer that one.

If there can be made an .ogg file available, then it should be just a matter of adding that as an option to the settings of the jPlayer next to the current .mp3 offering.

Yes I seen all the formats but the way I was talking it would be nice to have it where it converts to ogg instead of mp3 or something like that. Users shouldnt have to upload mp3 and ogg just to get it to play on the android phones. That would be the last resort because some users may find that too much work. Lets see what Brian will have to say. Thanks.

The Jamroom audio module automatically converts from any of 7 different formats to MP3 right now - it does not convert to OGG (the number of audio phones that only play OGG and do not play MP3 is actually fairly small).

So right now that would require something custom be done to convert TO OGG instead, and then the HTML 5 media players would need to be updated to support that, so I would recommend using Chrome or Firefox on your android phone - I think 99% of android users ditch the "stock" browser anyway.

Not sure if that helps, but that's why it's MP3.

Thanks!
