I think this may be a "timing" issue, as if it's on the threshold of a good setting.

When I open my posts, the comment editor is usually missing, although it's set to show. I end up with a plain window with no editing tools.

Sometimes it does show and I am able to use it. Is here a fix?

The editor is loaded after the page loads. Thats just how it works. If it doesn't load it could have other javascript interfering with it before hand.

If its just slow to load, its server response time, internet connection and computer speed that are the probable causes.

Hi Michael,

If it's slow to load, is there a point where it "times out" and stops trying? That could explain why I have it some times and not others.

It shouldn't be THAT slow to load. Im thinking a quick flash of the text box before seeing the editor. If its more than 5 seconds after the page has fully loaded you have a different problem.

I removed the only piece of custom Javascript I had, and the problem remained.

One thing I noticed which might serve as a clue. The first time I open a post, the editor shows and it loads instantly.

Then if I reload the page, the editor doesn't show. I can reload it several times in a row and it remains missing - a plain box shows - no tools.

Then I go to another "fresh" post. Same scenario - the editor loads instantly first time, and then doesn't if the page is reloaded.

I see this as well and I believe it is caching related, so I will get it fixed.

I have this fixed for the next release of the Profile Forum (1.5.0), which should be out soon.
