cloud performance increase vs price question

im running a dedicated server with plenty of power for growth, however have noticed a slight slowness while processing large conversion queues

i have 8 cores 3 workers assigned to music 2 to vids

my questions are and i hope you answer each and every 1 of them

1 does the cloud also function as a cloud based cdn or "cache' server that serves cached images and templates from the clouds nearest or lowest load nodes

2 or is it mostly just for queue handeling off server in a cloud

3 at what point would you say a trafic load would make the performance gain worth the price (i've already spent a bundle and havent gone live yet)

if this functions as a high performance cdn serving static resources of a cached cloud and increases site speed regardless of load then id consider it today

I'm uninfromed as to what it is, but my guess (from what you've said) is that you don't need this yet.

You are so demanding, especially in a first post on a new profile.Must say :)

haha well just saw that it was out in the market today and was excited till i saw the price

but
if it did take 1 second off the overall load time of a page id do it
slowness was the biggest issue with my old site the new jr site on a dedicated servers nice and fast but the faster i can make it and especialy on mobile the better
1 second improvement in overall average load times would justify the cost to me

@paul any chance at all on a trial install just for a couple hours testing
and i can report the results here and if it does improve load times ..i'll purchase today...and recomend it highly

Jamroom Cloud is not about making your site faster - in fact it is likely a little bit slower than a properly tuned single server (that is not overloaded). Whenever you distribute a system across multiple servers, you now have to add network latency to the system, so you often end up with a slightly slower system. However, it is a system that can scale much larger.

A properly tuned JR server is like a Ferrari. Jamroom Cloud will let you create a cluster that is more equivalent to a Mac truck - it's going to handle A LOT more load, but the top speed is not going to be what you get from the Ferrari.

With that said, there's a couple pieces of the Jamroom Cloud that might be of interest:

- The Conversion Client/Worker/Server modules - this allows you to setup a single server (or cluster of servers) that are dedicated to audio and video encoding. If you find that the encoding is bogging your server down, that can help.

- The Cache and Session Client - this interfaces with X additional MySQL servers that are used exclusively for session handling and/or caching (you can have separate server(s) for caching and separate server(s) for sessions). This can take a big load off your master MySQL server and help speed up your site.

I'm still tweaking things from the new site roll out but will be getting documentation and diagrams online for Jamroom Cloud over the next few weeks that will outline this stuff.

Hope this helps!

ok so youd need to have several dedicated servers to destribute the load to
i do find that im having serius latency right now since re-enabling the ogg conversion and doing a full reconversion the 1st 8000 files went smoothly the last 99 have taken days and days and its still around 75 to go and seeming to take hours each
i noticed theres a long delay for the servers 1st bite4s of datato be sent
i could reduce the workers and let the conversions take longer
or kill the queue and let that last 75 not work

The input audio files are corrupt - those are bad files. They should take seconds to convert - not days.

yea i realize thgat so i think ill clear the queue
all the rest went fast like 30 or more each refresh
the last 99 have just been horendouse but im not sure if that means all 71 that are left are all currupt or if 1 will take hours the next seconds the next hours
it has seemed like they are all taking forever so im assumming it tries them if corrupt it requeues them and retries later so the end of the list should all be currupt

Where can I see an example of Cloud Jamroom?
Do you have the pricing list of the cloud versión?
Thanks a lot,

cloud modules are in the "bundles" in marketplace i think its roughly 179ish if i remember right

i do think it also requires you to have more then 1 server

And for the items individually:
