completed Events Listing problem

I have been looking at the events which I have added some test data but the events list is coming out the round way round when you click on the events tab, it shows the default list which should be newest but it shows the oldest dated entry first and so on, it is the same on the home page events calendar when you click on newest. It looks like it is showing correctly in the profile page list though.
How can this be changed ? I tried changing the values to desc where it was showing as asc in the templates but didn't seem to make any changes.

You can see the events page here: http://1940snetwork.com/events

Here is a screenshot showing the newest events listing the wroung way round.

The MediaPro templates have just been updated, and they are listing correctly. You are right, the order_by should be desc not asc, but I'm not seeing an issue.

Note that the newest list is listed by when the even was created, not by the event date.

Hope this helps! :)

Hi Douglas, I just updated the site with the latest templates just released but I still have this issue with the latest in the wrong order. As you say the newest is by the latest event created but it's listing the other way round. Each one of those events you see in the events list under newest where created in this order, test event, future event and the final one I added today to test the list was Display list test.
So if it's by the date created then the list should be like this
Display List Test
Future Event
Test Event

I just added a new event to test it again after the update and named it the date and time it was added, you will see it is at the bottom of the newest list rahter than at the top, it's the same on that little hompage page module when you click on newest.

Sounds like it just needs to be ordered DESC rather than ASC...

But where ? I have tried just about every template I could find to do with events.

I have just noticed the galleries are doing the same thing so it must be something to do with that 'newest' code of the way it is pulling in the galleries, events etc from the created date.
Here is a screenshot and because the system puts a created date on show it's easier to see the oldest galleries are first instead of last.

Are these galleries that were "imported"?

Thanks!

No worries Brian,
No, all the date on my site is added by me as a user would add them. I started fresh with no data imports.

OK I see it here as well:

Let me see if I can spot what's going on.

Thanks!

I see why this is happening, and is due to a small regression introduced in 5.2.16 (due to removal of _item_id => _created mapping). I'm working on the fix and will have it fixed for 5.2.17.

Thanks!

Nice one Brian, that's great news that the problem has been found and look forward to the fix.

Keep up with the sterling work you are all doing over there :-)

I love how the JR team goes in every time to look for any possible problem from their end and fixes it right away. A refreshing change from NingWorld, for sure. :)

I agree Strumelia, the Jamroom team are great for this. Any question I have asked has been replied to in a very efficient manner with a true willing to find an answer rather than being fobbed of with some generic ' well get back to you ' that Ning sends out. I am very impressed with Jamroom now I am gradually finding my way around and hope to launch my site to members in a few more weeks time, although I may change my site onto an Arvix VPS to get a little more speed and upload sizes so it's nice and quick when more people are using it :-)

Awesome John, I may do the same as well- my arvixe shared server is pretty slow right now but I've not had time to address the issues...but may switch to VPS later when it all becomes more crucial.
I'm also glad that you are here. :)

Thanks a ton for the positive feedback - we definitely appreciate it and are always trying to do our best, so it's nice to hear that ;)

I would highly recommend a VPS - you'll get much better performance. Note too that we're trying to work with Arvixe to get something that is a better performing solution for our Jamroom customers. We've had issues on and off with their low end shared hosting (from a performance perspective - it can be VERY slow sometimes) and are hoping to get something setup where it may not be the cheapest, but it will perform really well.

Thanks!
