Okay, how are you embedding the video?

Are you trying to embed in the blog using the embed tool from the text editor?

i am embedding a video link on a blog post as an admin and am getting an error
and am getting this error You have entered an invalid value for "Blog Text" - value must be printable characters with the following allowed HTML tags: span,strong,em,a,b,u,i,p,div,br,img,h1,h2,h3,h4,pre,hr,ul,ol,li,param|embed

You can try changing your ACP > Core > Quota Config > Allowed HTML Tags to this:

Quote:
span,strong,em,a,b,u,i,p,div,br,img,h1,h2,h3,h4,pre,hr,ul,ol,li,param,embed

and see if that works.

Can you show us exactly what your putting in your blog?

Without logging in and checking myself, all I can do is suggest possible fixes.

Try putting you code inside code tags...

[ code]
Your code here...
[ /code]

but remove the space after the [

You could also email your site URL and admin login info to support[at]jamroom[dot]net and we can take a look at it.

Hope this helps! :)

Please make sure you are posting any Jamroom related questions you have here on the forum, and are not emailing team members for help.

If you need email support, you will want to update to the VIP Premium Support subscription. I know it's tempting to simply email someone when you feel like their not understanding it, but then the work through and solution is not available for other users to see.

Thanks!

Make sure you are embeding the youtube video by using the jrEmbed module.

Watch this: "Jamroom 5: jrEmbed module overview"
Jamroom 5: jrEmbed module overview

If you are just pasting in the code that is under the "Embed" section of YouTube then you will have to do it a different way. The jrEmbed module is the easiest way.

The second easiest way is the "Media URL Scanner"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/networkmarket/131/media-url-scanner

It will convert youtube links to play in the page when they are clicked.

If you MUST use the code that youtube provides, then you will need to add in this module:

"IFrame Control"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/networkmarket/116/iframe-control

To control the youtube iframe.

That means you don't have the youtube module. or its not enabled for the quota that use is in.

You can get that module from here:
"YouTube Support"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/networkmarket/25/youtube-support

Or from the marketplace in your ACP of your site.

The docs for it are here:

"YouTube Support"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/modules/295/youtube-support

If you still want to do it via iframe, check out this thread:

Yes - Douglas is on the Jamroom Team, which is why I asked you to not email him directly. We have a ticket system for those users that need direct email support. If you have an issue it needs to be worked through here, on the forum.

Thanks!

OK - so to check where we are:

- you have the YouTube module installed, enabled, and all your quotas can access it.
- you have the Core -> Quota Config -> "Convert Embed Tags" checked in the Active Text Formatters for each quota.

Where are you trying to embed a YouTube video? A Blog entry?

Thanks!

I have just tested here and don't see any problems. Here's how you do it:

1) Create a NEW YouTube video on a profile (go to the YouTube section for a profile and click the + button)
2) Click on "Blog" for the profile and create a NEW blog entry
3) in the editor click on the "Embed Local Media" button
4) in the Embed Local Media overlay, click on the "YouTube" tab and select the YouTube video from step 1.
5) save your blog entry

The YouTube video will now be embedded.

@brian this should be a friendly forum stop assuming things and making @douglas look like he can't help me and he was trying to help me before u showed up in this topic. I nearly got the solution So what is my mistake? What have I done wrong??? @douglas asked for my login details on this topic then u write the test above. I dont like how you assist me thanks to @douglas @paul and @micheal for always helping me find a Solution.

I apologize - I'm definitely not trying to make anyone mad, just want to be sure you know that our primary support is offered here through the Support Forum - not by sending email to our team members. That's all.

So it looks like we've answered this issue - you'll need to have the YouTube module installed if you want to be able to embed YouTube in your Jamroom - this is because all the "logic" to handle YouTube embedding is located in the YouTube module.

Hope this helps!

Brian knows more about this than Paul, Micheal and I do.

You will need to use the YouTube module to embed YouTube videos, there is no way around it unless you want to create your own module to handle the job.

Hope this helps! :)
