I can't get rid of the "new post" highlighting in my Ultrajam profile forum.

But that isnt the glitch, here's a screenshot - it happens at full-width as well.

In that screenshot, the General category counts is too far to the left, and the announcements thread has been visited several times but still shows as having new posts.

The forum layout is designed to have a small "description" about each forum (like we have here) - I believe that provides enough vertical space for the div to always float all the way to the right. Let add a check in the template to add some extra space if that description is missing.

Thanks!

I see it too. The whole read/unread has been such a PITA that I wish I had not even done it.

I'll see if I can figure out why it is happening.

Looks like it only happens when there are 0 posts in the General cat, cos I just made my first post to General and the glitch is gone.

Why not scrap the read/unread markings?

A recent/unread posts view and a kill mcdrecords button would be preferable imo.

When it's working I think it is really convenient - the problem is the number of corner cases is actually quite high, and trying to track them down is hard. I think I'm 90% of the way there though, and having literally spent 10+ hours on it, I'm not ready to throw in the towel :)

Okay just made a small change and reset caches - let me know if that looks better.

Thanks!

I'm not suggesting towel throwing. Unread markings are convenient, but it's also a habitual thing.

I'd go for a change of habits, plus a kill mcdrecords button, anyday.

Yeah that looks right, or as good as it will.

Thanks!
