Seeing this error repeatedly in activity log for multiple users

I'm going to guess that one of your custom modules is passing in incorrect (or missing) values to a jrCore_db_search_items call - i your activity log you will see a small exclamation point button to the right of the activity log entry - press that and a new window with details on the exact call will be shown. Show that to your developers so they can fix it.
