I want to give members patches for the guitar sounds I use ,in Guitar Rig.
How would I do this? and are the files compatable with Jamroom ?

You could do it with quotas and a few alterations to the templates.

Check that the user is in a specified quota, then show the download button. Its not able to be done by setting any settings at the moment. It would need custom code.

Are these files? If so, you could use the jrFile module to upload them and allow downloads.

A few alterations to the template....don't like the sound of that.

My site is very basic at moment having only just started it,and not knowing much about all this(learning fast)
Theres only 2 of us in admin,(one profile group)
The only other profile group is members.(for everyone else)
Yes these are files,(for a vst audio plug-in)and I would like all members to be able to download free .
I have the solo artist bundle...does this have the jrfile module included?
If so, how would I upload the files? and where?

Hope I don't appear to stupid ,I'm a total novice,(just a musician!)
my friend set this site up for me,but finding I'm bit out of my depth at the moment..(though keen to learn)

In that case jrFile is the way to go.
When installed, goto its config and set the file type appropriately (vst?)

You make it sound so simple! Do I have to specify the members quota or profile ,or anything else I should know?

You can set up which quotas can upload and download files from within the ACP. Many JR5 modules have quota controlled features. Take a look around the ACP to see (click on modules' 'quota' tabs).
