Yeah I know they may be outdated but so am I. I really want a JR solution that integrates with existing logins. Anyone seen one of these modules laying around?

I don't understand. What is a shoutbox and what does "integrates with existing logins." mean?
shoutbox is just a small "chatroom". When I used VBulletin, I added a shoutbox module and then used css to add it to my JR site. So when you logged in, you could see 5-10 people talking in there. The thing I hated is you had to log into the forum to be able to use it. So that was confusing.
Cometchat has a chatroom add on for JR5. Its not in the marketplace though.

I was actually looking at this a few days ago. I might pull the trigger on it. I need to see if I can have a general chat though. That seems to be more like facebook and has individual chat capabilities.
I am like you Dazed from old forum days. I would love to see this too. Not a biggy for me but it was always good when you had a few people on

I ended up installing cometchat. I like it so far.
