Hey everyone!

First up, thanks for coming by the new system and helping get the new Marketplace tested. To help out, we're offering a special "Beta Promo" for 50% off any Marketplace items by the Jamroom Network. This Promo code is good for up to 5 uses per system id, so if you're up for helping us test, this is an easy way to pick up any modules or skins at a great price.

This will only be available for a very short time during this beta period, so take advantage of it while you can.

Important: the promo code will only work for module and skin purchases made via the Marketplace module (it won't work for FoxyCart cart purchases here on jamroom.net, nor does it work on bundles).

The code is:

(no longer available)

Enter that into the Promo Codes section of your Marketplace module, and you'll see the prices change to reflect the discount. You can purchase up to 5 items at the discounted price, after which time it will revert back to normal prices.

Let us know if you have ANY issues and we'll help.

Thanks!

May I use this coupon code for Bundles component?

@mtcore not sure, but give it a go and see.

--edit--
Entering the code in should show the adjusted prices before you have to purchase, so you will know if it works or not for bundles without having to buy.

@mtcore I see what your saying. on the /marketplace/browse/bundle page, the promo code does not effect the price of the bundle visibly.

Only the price of the full packages in the bundle is saved. eg:
"solo artist bundle $59 (save $27.00)" does not seam to be effected by entering a promo code.

Not sure if that's by design or not. Seams like a promo code should work for bundles though. Hang out for an update on this point.

This is what happened to me. I wanna put the coupon code for Super Pack Bundle, but there is no option for me to use it and I thought it's must be in other page, after I click checkout button, it's redirect me straight to paypal. Please take a look. I'm looking forward to use this coupon since I've been waited for so long to buy Jamroom bundle modules. Sorry for my bad English.

Brian should be along in about 8hours or so and will have a definite idea on whether it is possible or not.

Right now it doesn't look like the promo code is being applied to bundles, so hang around for a bit until he gets here, then you'll get a better answer.

And one more problem, I got this error message after I install Market Modules from fresh installer.

""Invalid system id - please try again""

This error come up from promo codes tabs. Please take a look. Seem like this coupon code didn't have in your database.

did you enter your license info into the marketplace tools section?

you get your license info from "Your Licenses" here:
http://test.jamroom.net/networklicense/licenses

then enter that into:
http://YOUR-SITE.com/marketplace/release_system_update/id=1

then save the changes.

Bundles are already discounted, so do not work with Promo Codes - the Promo Codes worn on individual modules and skins only.

Thanks!

Note that within the marketplace module it tells you that promo codes are only applicable to modules and skins - not bundles (since bundles are already heavily discounted). I'll look at the wording and see if I can make that more apparent or clear.

Thanks!

Hi Brian,

You would have made it more attractive specially for some of us who (unfortunately) for one reason or another didn't manage to buy the JR5 super pack at the promo price ($99) while it was at its testing stage. By the way, JR5 modules and skins are very expensive and they are so many of them. I understand you put so many efforts into it and I respect your work. Congratulations for the great job. But why don't you try to be more generous to us your fellow Supporters and Customers once again and offer the 50% off for at least 10 or 15 uses per system id instead of 5? (5 is just too little). Also, It would have been an awesome deal if you were offering the 50% Off on bundles as well. But unfortunately, as you have already answered, it seems it will be difficult for us to still expect anything from you on bundles battle.

Com'on Brian, it is just for the Marketplace testing period/time. You won't loose a lot.

Hope you will hear us. We have been working with you in this JR community for many years now and we know you very well Brian. We all know how a great person you are. We know you can hear us if you want.

Please make it at least 10 or 15 uses per system id on modules/Skins If you can't offer 50% Off on Bundles. Or Why not 50% Off on both (Bundles and individual module/skin)? ;)

Many Thanks and Regards.

Hey PCH - One thing to think about in the new pricing structure is that you are no longer buying licenses for artist usage. It used to be something like under 5 was free, then the tiers started from 5+ to unlimited. Then there was the pricing for the paypack, power pack and I think a few others not to mention the marketplace with individual modules.

By the way, JR5 modules and skins are very expensive and they are so many of them.

I think you'll find that JR5 is actually significantly cheaper than JR4 - the entire core is free, as is over 50% of our modules - and many of the paid modules are only $9. Premium skins are $49 (versus up to $299 on JR4).

One of our big goals with JR5 is to make it available to a wider audience, and to do that we believe we needed to make it more affordable - a full media JR5 site setup with unlimited artists can be easily setup for under $100, which was not the case with JR4.

I've upped the promo code from 5 uses per user to 10 - let me know if that helps.

Thanks!

I understand. Thanks for the explanation. Also Thanks a lot for upping the promo code from 5 to 10 uses although 15 uses would have been the best deal for many of us. Anyway 10 uses per user is better than 5. Thanks.

I can see where you are coming from online-ordered grocery delivery - there were a lot of those around last week.

You don't have a full grasp of this environment do you? (so try to be polite about it, especially in a test environment, public image etc).

Hi Steve,

Please why are you mistreating and disrespecting me, writing nonsense???? As a JR user, I have friendly requested for something, Brian granted to me (us), then I said "Thanks" and the story was over. This is a friendly forum (a community), I have expressed what I was thinking and Brian didn't complain about it and wasn't not upset either. You came late and started writing nonsense? Why??? So what is my mistake? What have I done wrong??? Didn't I say "Thank you"? Where have I been unpolite??? So Why are you rude??? Is this what you call a "friendly support"? being rude with people...??? I am really sorry.

Hi Brian,

I have started buying few items. I am enjoying the new Marketplace System integrated with the site. Very Nice Job!!! The System works fine. Congratulations. I am also enjoying the Promo code. Thanks a lot.

Just one small problem: I couldn't figure out where and how to change my credit card details. I would like to continue buying with a another credit card of mine and still using the promo code. It seems to me that Stripe has already saved my previous credit card and it doesn't let buyers change or edit their credit card details at the checkout. Where and how can I change my credit card details on Stripe file in other to shop with another one?

Thanks

pch:how can I change my credit card details on Stripe file in other to shop with another one?....

go into:
yoursite.com/marketplace/admin/global

Thats the 'Global Config' tab on the MARKETPLACE module in the ACP. uncheck the "Quick purchase" checkbox.

That should get you getting asked for your details each time.

Yep - what Michael has posted - the "Quick Purchase" option (when checked) tells Stripe to use your stored CC info instead of prompting you for the info each time - if you uncheck that, you will get the CC prompt again where you can enter new info (and that CC will then be saved by Stripe for future use).

Hope this helps!

Yup.. I did the same thing thinking that it may be in the paypal process.. But I completed my purchase and hope to somehow get that discount back.. somehow..

Have to say I may have rushed to buy and missed the instructions on how and where to use the discount key..

It will only work for purchases made via the Marketplace module (it won't work for cart purchases here on jamroom.net).

The code is:

WL3omR4HUMiK

Enter that into the Promo Codes section of your Marketplace module, and you'll see the prices change to reflect the discount. You can purchase up to 5 items at the discounted price, after which time it will revert back to normal prices.

Let us know if you have ANY issues and we'll help.

Thanks!

Sorry guys - I highlighted this in my post:

brian:
It will only work for purchases made via the Marketplace module (it won't work for cart purchases here on jamroom.net).

The coupon codes only work with the Marketplace module that runs ON your Jamroom - not the cart purchases here on Jamroom.net. We really need people to help us test the Marketplace setup - not so much the foxycart/paypal checkout (which we know works).

We will be able to support promo codes via the cart checkout, but the incentive here was to get users to use our new marketplace install/setup, which is awesome - you guys should check it out.

What I'll do is refund you guys 50% of your purchase, but going forward if you want to get the 50% discount you will have to purchase the items through the Marketplace that runs on your own Jamroom - not here on the site.

Thanks!

Hi Brian,

My apologies, I know you are THE BIG BOSS, you do with your Business whatever you want. it is yours!... but don't you care about your customers?? You just wake up one morning, and said: "Boom, the promo ends today" No notifications whatsoever in advance, no email, NADA!!!

It is very surprising. I am extremely disappointed.

Please remember you said: "The Promo code will only be available for a very short time during this beta period".... Awesome! but you never said when the Beta period will end.

I was expecting you notify us in considerable length of time (at least minimum: 3 days in advance). Any promo code anywhere in the world has a stated end date. Well, for beta period, I understand, it would have been difficult to state the end date but at least you would have notified us in advanced, I think, not just waking up in a morning and saying the Promo ends today, although you have the right to do so if you want, the Business is yours!

It happened I was away for work, thinking that the beta period will last at least few days more and we will be notified in advance when it ends.

I came back today, logged into my marketplace to continue ordering (remember I wrote you last time about changing my CC details), unfortunately the discount was just gone. I might sound so ignorant to many but this is very disappointing.

Please, would you mind extending it for at least 1 day more? (of course if you want, you are THE BOSS)

Thanks

Of course we care about our customers, which is why we made sure and posted (in bold too) that the promo would end once we were out of beta:

http://archive.jamroom.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=43157

I also posted a followup yesterday that we were going live today, so I'm not sure how you can say that we gave no notice. Maybe you thought we weren't serious when we said it would end when we were no longer in beta.

I know that you had some feedback on the promo code setup back on the 4th of November, at which time we extended the offer from 5 items to 10. I don't see that any time over the last 9 days that you took advantage of that, so I can only conclude that you believed the beta would go on for a lot longer - I apologize if there was anything that anyone said on the team that would have led you to believe that - I don't think that happened, but I can't be sure.

I can extend the 50% off coupon to you and anyone else that missed out on it, but all purchases must be made today - they will not be extended through tomorrow.

contact me at brian [at] jamroom [dot] net for the private code.

Thanks!

My apologies Brian, I didn't see or received any previous notice about it at all. I am just wondering how come I did miss them all.

Yes, you right, I was thinking that the Beta will last longer and we will be notified about its end a little bit earlier. That's why I was away for work thinking that when I will be back I will still find the JR5 Marketplace in beta. JR5 Marketplace beta is probably the shortest beta (in term of time/period) I ever came across.

Thanks a lot for always being there and listening to us. I was filling sad, now I can smile. Also, Now I can see that you are really a TRUE BOSS. Keep it up!

Email sent!
