Many of the search engine sites like to see that your site has a sitemap to know that they are getting all of your content into their search results.

Here is how google describes sitemaps
If you want to provide that for them, this module creates an XML sitemap for your site.

The Sitemap module creates an XML sitemap which is read by Google, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo and other search engines to locate all the pages on your site.
What does the Sitemap module do?
This module generates that sitemap.xml file that they look for by default.
The location that they look for it is at:
your-site.com/sitemap.xml -

After you have generated your sitemap, the a link to the location where it is is generated.
Where to find your Sitemap
Clicking on that link will take you to your-site.com/sitemap.xml and it will look like this: -
