Payments module is now in the alpha channel

One additional thing you might want to consider for the merchandise module is an auction mode, ie in addition to Buy, allow the seller to set it up for bidding like ebay. This could open the ecommerce area up to a new client base.

I played a round a bit this morning but at this point the layout is beyond me.

I cam across this today http://themekitten.com/demo/monarch/ and thought that general layout would make a good alternative base skin.

ie if you take Elastic as the example, but now 100% width with the header down the left (col2), content in the middle (col9) and Footer on the right (col1).

Thoughts?

Beat slinger defaults

Lets say you only have free music on your site and you install beat slinger to try it out, by default the Require Price is selected for the Beat Player.

Since the homepage widgets by default are set to jrAudio, this results in an error down by the footer if you click on play on any of these widgets on the homepage.

I don't think this is a good out of the box experience, the last thing you want to see are errors.

Looking at the code in gallery's item_detail I think I can see why it's not showing. Foxycart is hardcoded.

Can also confirm it works for video module.

Done some preliminary testing with audio, file, and gallery modules.

Price shows in all of the above modules forms.

Price shows on front end for audio and file modules not for gallery module. Will install and test other modules now.

Maybe I am missing something obvious, but not seeing any price field in audio module.

Just set up a new dev site, installed Payments, Audio, and Image Galleries.

Set permissions for example quota

Uploaded an audio file and some images.

There is no place to add a price for any of these, the Payments module doesn't appear to be yet injecting the Price field like Foxycart Ecommerce did.

Cart icon shows in top right corner and opens cart in modal window when clicked on, so that seems ok.

I think I will set up a new dev site to test that out, as the one thing that is clear is my skin will require serious changes when this arrives.

ie

With foxycart disabled, there is no place to enter a price for an item, the field is hidden on the form, but items that had a price before turning foxycart off, have the buy button in the item detail area.

And as you thought cart buttons are indeed hard coded in skins.
