Have to admit I kinda like how the shopping experiences are segmented, Music sales being in the Music area, physical goods being in the store/marketplace and then site services having their own area.
If I open services store to other quotas I may do a seamless list of them with the merchandise store.
But if your using site builder you can do this using the item list (combined).

Not sure I understand the request, but the System Feed option in Users->One All Social Link->Tools will allow you to set up a single social account and have all site activity go to that from what I understand.

I understand your frustration Derrick, I too was developing a custom skin and module as a proof of concept for a friend and came across this, I thought it was my modifications but when I switched back to default slate it showed the same.
I would advise you not switch skins as all your customisations will basically need to be done over again. It is the holiday period so maybe the team are having a relaxing summer with their kids, which is understandable.
It does seem like the Slate skin has been removed from the marketplace while they sort this?

The height of 700 is hard coded in the iframe tag within modules/ccCometChat/index.php.
You could manually change that if you want.
