Gedcom Didn't Sync

Genosis

When you have the time, let me know what you find out and if it is happening to you!
I just tried the gedcom thing again with a tree I called Testing.
I exported a gedcom of the 21 person Miller family with their profile pictures.
I did the Import Media Archive to the Testing tree and then I imported the Miller gedom. (I unchecked the "save media space.")
The profiles were there, but the pictures were links with an arrow box next to them. When I clicked the link to "view the original image" it came back with an error.
I then exported the Testing tree and imported it back into the Miller tree, syncing the profiles. There are now duplicates of everyone again. ~ Lisa

Tree Front Page

Genosis

Is there something I need to check-box in order for the profile images to appear in the "featured?" I have a handful of profile pictures I've added, but they do not show up on the front page.

Gedcom Didn't Sync

Your options were what I was thinking I would have to do, which is no big deal since I am still playing and learning. I wanted to make sure there wasn't something else I should have done and didn't do. :-)

Gedcom Didn't Sync

I exported the Benson gedcom and meant to upload it to the main tree. I accidentally uploaded it back to the Benson tree. I had checked "sync profiles" but it still made duplicates of everyone. Any suggestions? ~ Lisa

Media Export

That would be absolutely perfect to be able to copy folks over instead of doing it the .gedcom way!! I'm looking forward to all the tweaks. Thank you for such a superior program!

I enjoy it too, and it is a wonderful feature! Thank you, Brian, for a wonderful (and thoughtful) program!

Media Export

Got it! I knew a .gedcom was only text so I was trying to figure out how to work with the pictures. So, if I export from the Benson family, and I want to upload that same .gedcom to the main tree I upload the .gedcom first and then the pictures? Thanks!

That's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything! Thanks!

Media Export

Genosis

Hello!

I am asking questions as things come up. :-) If I am exporting to a gedcom a family tree that has pictures, how do I get the pictures to go with the gedcom? How do I upload them with the gedcom? I see the box "import media archive" but when I click on it it opens up to select files on my hard-drive. I have never really worked with gedcoms before to know what to do with the pictures. Thanks! Lisa
