Grrrr... Error 404

Installation and Configuration

Thanks for the info... I am suspecting maybe 1&1 might be the problem. :-) I'll look into it. I did check out your recommended hosting. It is appealing, but the thing that is scary to me is moving my 2 WordPress blogs over. LOL! And yes, this all helps very much! ~ Lisa

Grrrr... Error 404

Installation and Configuration

Good Morning, Gentlemen!

Deleted everything and started fresh last night - I got a 404 forbidden message.
Deleted all again and started fresh this morning.
There are 2 files that reach 100% upload and then repeatedly start the upload over. This has been going on for an hour now.

modules\jrcore\tools\diff
modules\jrcore\tools\ffmpeg

I have to disconnect as I have to get to work, but I do not know if it is Filezilla, my internet speed or my domain (1&1). Do you have any further suggestions, maybe a different uploader? ~ Lisa

Grrrr... Error 404

Installation and Configuration

Figures it's me. :-)

I had a lot of problems uploading it, and Filezilla seemed to hang up at the jrcore/tools/diff file for whatever reason. I have removed the program and uploaded it numerous times yesterday, and I am not sure what the problem is... maybe my domain host.

When I get home today I will make sure the htacess files have uploaded... are they part of the zip file? Should I upload jamroom first before trying Genosis again?

Most appreciative,

Lisa

Grrrr... Error 404

Installation and Configuration

Good Morning, Gentleman!
Was I to install Jamroom on it's own first?

I discovered Genosis through genesoftreviews, and I visited the page and clicked the download button. I assumed all the files needed would be part of the zip file. Where are the other files located that I should upload? I truly appreciate all you do and am very excited to try out Genosis! Thanks! Lisa

Grrrr... Error 404

Installation and Configuration

I apologize for writing here again, but I cannot seem to access: http://www.genosisfamily.com/forum I can view the files, and that is all I can do.

I have installed and re-installed numerous times via Filezilla the Genosis
files. I don't get the page with the tree anymore... just a black page that says "Default Tree Click to log in"

I have checked the URL in the data/config/config.php file, and it is correct.
No errors during installation. Just two files with the same name... one dated 9/7/2014 and the other dated 9/14/2014. I picked "skip" as I didn't know what I was supposed to do.

Here is my page: http://simplylisa.net/genosis

For whatever reason when I click the link to log in the URL changes to: http://simplylisa.net/genosis/simplylisa.net/genosis/user/login

I do not know why it repeated the domain, but when I clean it up, the link still takes me to the Error 404 page.

The only thing I notice is there does not appear to be an index page in the Genosis subdirectory. There are 7 files, but none are called index.php.

I am at a loss at what to do. Thank you for any advice you can provide. Lisa

Grrrr... Error 404

Installation and Configuration

Hello! I just installed Genosis in a sub-directory on my domain. Everything is good... a beautiful background with a tree with words that say "Default Tree" and underneath "Click here to log in." I click - and it takes me to a page that says "Error 404: NOT FOUND!This domain name has just been registered."

I've had my domain for years. I am not sure where to go to fix this minor issue. Please help! Thank you! Lisa
