Jamroom 5 --> 6 upgrade

Using Jamroom

Hello Jamroom team,
we have a few questions to Jamroom.

Topically we use the version 5 with many modules or also even to bought modules.
What exactly is the difference of version 5 on 6? When is the new Version online?

What does cost an Upgrade?

Can all modules be used by version 5 on 6?

Is it topical in such a way what is very irritating that we have to do update partially our design again "anew" high-level store with a module - is still exact with Jamroom 6? What must one make, so that own design is not headlined?

Must we adapt in general our design in Jamroom 6?

Many thanks for your time and feedback.
Sorry, if my English is perhaps bad.

Greeting from Germany.
Stefan

Jamroom updates - to overwrite own things

Using Jamroom

michael:
What you want is this:
Docs: "Events and Listeners"https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/jamroom-developers-guide/1011/events-and-listeners
Make a module to make the changes then you wont need to do anything when modules are updated.

... great, i will look into it. Thanks!!!

Jamroom updates - to overwrite own things

Using Jamroom

paul:
How have you updated the player? If its by modifying templates make sure you have done that via the ACP tem[plate editor or by creating an 'over-ride' template in the active skin. That way they will not be overwriten on module updates.

Hello Paul,
many thanks for answere.

No, not via template, i have to put a code line into the include.php, to give the members the possibility disable downloads for their songs.

Thanks for your helf :)

Jamroom updates

Hello.
I have a question about the updates of the modules.

Take, for example, "audio".

I have adapted to the player, for example, our site, but this must update after your new upload again since Jamroom automatically assumes the original shape of the player.

As there is a possibility that if I myself made any changes, they are not overwritten by your updates of the modules?

Sure, I can always upload my file, but it is very to be extremely time-consuming.

Many thanks for your help!

Stefan

Thoughts on new functions Jamroom

Using Jamroom

A new question :-)

The forum there is this funtion already ... I be notified when a new comment has been posted. But I can also be easily notified, without which I have written so far to comment. At the same time I can but I also unsubscribe and get no messages via e-mail or as PN.

This feature would be madness if one had been in comments on the Wall, or you could generally use this feature for comments of all posts.

Thank you so much!

Thoughts on new functions Jamroom

Using Jamroom

Hello :-)

Anticipation, I apologize for my bad English but hope that you can follow my thoughts and ideas.

I have allowed myself to think about Jamroom ... also with the feedback we have received from our users / musicians until now. Musicians are now on Facebook, have hardly got an own homepage. On Facebook you can register as a sort Calendar by pluggins of other pages, for example, your "gigs". Inform your fans alone only through Facebook. Madness, right?

Jamroom itself has in our opinion a lot of potential. We use it since version 3.x.

At this point all our heartfelt thanks for Jamroom with all its modules and how we find, very friendly and quick service / support.

New features / modules:

Facebook:
... I say, everyone knows Facebook and its features and the insane power ... everyone uses it. To what extent is the possibility to integrate Facebook things automatically in Jamroom so that all news "up to date" are always automatically?
The idea ...
Jamroom is the headquarters ... The user is on Jamroom, on his side of things Facebook are automatically integrated, such as his "Timeline / Wall", his calendar, photos and much more ... so his fans, actually only his Jamroom would call side, there are all the important information.
Is it possible that you Things you do on Jamroom, are automatically posted on Facebook?

madness :-)

Instagram:
Many musicians / artists use Instagram to come there with your fans also in contact. On Instagram photos are mainly uploaded and commented on them. It would be great if Jamroom automatically and autonomously search information such as photos and comments from Instagram integrated .. for example in the Wall.

Music performances / gigs:
Although Jamroom has its own calendar, it would be huge if the calendar, for example, dates from the respective Facebook Calendar of musician / user automatically integrates. At the same time would be an export to iOS or Android / Google Calendar interesting.

Statistics:
Facebook makes it happen that almost everything is recorded and Facebook, these statistics can be used internally for themselves. It would be great if the user Jamroom things or users on its behavior or the things he looks or sounds heard, would make appropriate proposals automatically located.
Internally, it would be very useful to find out what and where, how long users to posts, use or movie, so you can see certain trends, or noticed errors faster songs, videos or functions.

These are only preliminary ideas, look forward to answer and other proposals like by others, thus Jamroom is even better!

Jamroom should be able to be used as headquarters, the main point, the user logs in and has won everything and can offer its fans Jamroom as his home with all its modules.

Thank you very much :)

Stefan

Same here - have heard of it, or course, but have never used it. Would you envisage an Instagram module being the same as the Flickr module in that you can embed their images on a JR site?

Hi Paul and Michael,
many thanks for your answere and to talk/think about this feature.

Same here, our users told us about instagram :-) It would be absolut awesome, when a jamroom modul, like flickr, would import all photos, comments and so on automatically and to that again, if new photos, comments and so on are online.

possibly?
