Stats Information

That would be excellent. I haven't seen any other sites / scripts incorporate chat stats into the main site stats. Shame that they leave those stats on the table and not use them to pad their site stats.

I think stats overall are important, as I mentioned above in the chat transcript. Having chat stats could add nice pad to a site which isn't content heavy or a site which is just starting out.

Could you put the room selector button also in the header next to the icon of the people online? Something is just telling me that to "change room" button should be represented in that top bar. The left side icon bar doesn't carry the same "weight" as the header bar. The other buttons in the left icon bar are just functional buttons - open, close, expand... whereas the header buttons contain the settings and people online - bigger weighted buttons. I think the room selector should be represented there also while still remaining in the left icon bar. Though, the left icon button is nice and is grouped with the message reply which I think carries the most weight.

brian:
Yep - netdata was posted a few months back to Hacker News. It's super nice/cool looking, but overkill for what we need here
For our system monitoring we use a custom JR module running here on Jamroom.net called "Nucleos" that monitors all of our hosting infrastructure. I've attached a screenshot so you can see what it looks like - it works really well for what we do here.

Nucleos looks nice! :)

Yea, netdata is packed full of stuff. I've been waiting for George to add it to Centmin Mod. He has it on his list.

@brian don't know if you've ever heard of netdata, but George is working on integration with Centmin Mod. It's standalone, so I believe you can use it with your servers.

Before you click the first link below. Be warned. You will want it.

Yea, George is a command line kinda guy. So, it's basically setup for guys like us that like to use the command line, but still want some automation on the install / update.

I love the fact that I can switch PHP or Nginx versions at the drop of a hat. It's wonderful for testing to be able to upgrade or downgrade super easy.

Setup an account on the forum and if you have any questions just ask. George is a great guy and always looking to chat with like minded people who know the server and how it runs.

His main site has most of the information. There is also a lot of other general information about hosts, SSL, etc. on the site. Lots of good info, especially on VPS servers - which are the best, worst, etc.

All that centmin mod is, is a bunch of script that install stuff. I know some power users from IPB that have moved to centmin mod because installing the stack is a lot easier with centmin mod.

He's really thought of everything. https://centminmod.com/faq.html

Quote: Centmin Mod LEMP is an optimized Linux, Nginx, MariaDB MySQL & PHP-FPM web stack for CentOS 6.x & CentOS 7.x developed by George Liu (eva2000) with a shell menu based installer that allows Nginx & PHP version management, upgrade/downgrade Nginx & PHP or setting up Nginx vhosts etc. Centmin Mod 1.2.3-eva2000.08 (of .08 for short) added a centmin.sh menu option 23 to setup a Git environment for easier code updates and cronjob auto updates. Centmin Mod Addons are available to extend the features of the LEMP install. Free SSL certificates via Letsencrypt & Nginx Brotli Compression integration is currently being tested.

The only reason he did centmin mod was for his servers. Offering it to the public is just a side project. So, you get his quality coding, he does to run for his business, for free.

I would really seriously take Centmin Mod for a test spin. Check out the code on github, it's really quality. He has hundreds of servers running Centmin Mod. If you make a post on his forum, he'll probably tell you exactly what you need to know and you can go from there.

He's really crazy with all the stuff. It's like the minute something is changed, he's on top of it. He's a good ally to have.

I'm glad everything worked out with Nginx and JR. There are a lot of power users that use Nginx. Having that working is important IMO. JR with Centmin Mod is blazing fast. Hopefully, some people will come over to JR from that forum. I'd love to get George Lui to create some pages on his site like he has for WP and some forum software. That guy is crazy smart with the server stuff.
