Latest chat updates

Update. So, I'm now using Fedora! Woot, much better than windows. I'm working off a laptop, logged in for the first time ever with this laptop, chat is showing 50 when closed when I first logged in.

Besides the above, everything seems to be working great using Fedora 24 and Firefox.

I had the site closed and actually entered jamroom.net just a little bit ago when it showed 50.

I'll let you know if it happens again.

Came online today and closed chat was showing 50. Opened chat and they're weren't any new chats. Maybe the closed chat icon in showing private chats?

Tipping, Points Economy, and Awards

That's a good point, that would be nice to have. Kind of earn your way to more features. The only issue I see would be if someone joined the site with the intention of upgrading to a premium membership, but got frustrated because they were restricted by a site policy. Once the member gets frustrated and leaves, they probably won't come back. Whereas a spammer I can I can find and ban.

Tipping, Points Economy, and Awards

Personally, if I was going to bump any quota I would charge for that. But having that mixed into a points economy would be a good idea for people who wanted that feature.

I really like the points economy on IPB. It's fun to have "play money" to give to people on the site. There is something about seeing a ton of points in your bank and knowing you have more points than someone else.

Tipping, Points Economy, and Awards

What might be nice is a tipping module. Where people can tip any kind of content on the site. It's a nice way to reward people who're posting on the site. The module would add a tipping button to all content and track tips though out the site.

Another nice module, kind of related to tipping, is something called a "points economy". I could try to explain it, but you can check it out here: https://invisionpower.com/files/file/7911-points-economy/

Awards. There is a popular module for IPS called Awards. Basically, it awards members who do certain tasks determined by the admin and rewards the members with icons. https://invisionpower.com/files/file/7940-iawards/

Looking through other software plugins is a great way to discover new ideas for Jamroom. You also get the added benefit of seeing how the other community embraced the idea, by looking at the total downloads - especially if the plugin is a paid plugin.

For $35 dollars a month to have access to 100 channels and can stream 3 streams anywhere... that's a deal. $35 is my price for the base package and 2 extra packages. Normal price is $20 ORANGE, $25 BLUE, or $40 for both + extras which are $5 a piece.

Me personally, I never watch the major networks except for Sports. The best programming IMO is the science stuff and docs on the cable channels - I love How it's Made, Modern Marvels, and How it Works to name a few. I also like the old stuff like @nate. TV Land and a few other channels are good for that. I'm also addicted to food and home improvement shows. So, DIY, HGTV, Food Network, Cooking Network, are some of my favorites.

Personal favorites of all shows: Mr. Robot on USA and Rick and Morty on Adult Swim. @brian I highly suggest you watch Mr. Robot if you haven't. It's all about computer hacking. It's a crazy show. Rick and Morty - this is coming from a DIE HARD Simpsons fan who's been watching The Simpsons since day 1 - Rick and Morty is better than the Simpsons. It's the best animated TV show on television.

I hear you with the football. ;) As long as I get the local games, I'm a happy camper. My Dad does the package because he watches a bunch of teams play.
