What do i need to make it work

Installation and Configuration

nduguseliphaz:
am trying to learn how it works

Did you read and watch the docs that Michael linked to?

Did you do the things that they taught you to do?

jrPoll glitch

Using Jamroom

Created a new poll with 2 options, but when the update form loads it shows 4 sets of option fields:

jrPoll glitch

Using Jamroom

When I installed Polls, there was no option to "allow on profile", only "show in editor". Shouldn’t there be an allow on profile option as well?

Very confusing to see how to delete an option…

Until I create a new poll with the start date in the future - (ah, that works, I can delete options now), but the fields are not in the right order (see screenshot).

Would it make more sense to have a published/unpublished checkbox to remove the poll from public view rather than using the start and end dates? It took me a while to figure out, might be tough for a first-time user trying to make a quick one-off poll?

However, after deleting tow of the four option fields, the option headings are gone but the fields still remain in the form (see second screenshot).

Also, I get a pointer cursor when I roll over the "Voting has ended" button on the profile, but it isn’t a button or link.

GoogleMaps API Key

GoogleMaps

It looks like Google have disabled existing keys until your agreement is updated - I had to turn on the Maps API v3 service, then my browser key for the site started working again:

Visit the APIs Console at https://code.google.com/apis/console and log in with your Google Account.
Click the Services link from the left-hand menu.
Activate the Google Maps JavaScript API v3 service.

I already had a browser key created for that domain from back in February, and that key now works again.

If you haven't already created Simple API keys, create a Simple API Browser key for your site in your Google console. It should look like this:

Key for browser apps (with referers)
API key: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Referers: *yourdomain.com/*
Activated on: Feb 28, 2014 4:13 PM
Activated by: xxxxxxxx@gmail.com – you

Note: You don't need to create a key unless you have a lot of traffic and a lot of maps usage. If you exceed 25000 requests per day for more than 90 consecutive days you will be exceeding your limits and will need an API key to continue service as normal.

Google Maps on Events

GoogleMaps

Thanks Douglas, Not sure that everyone can access private notes, so I emailed Ken using the address on the license.

Ken, I renamed the Form Designer field event_googlemaps and the map now appears on the event detail page. I'm not sure why I made it that the field needs to be named like that, but that's the way it is for now.
Take a look, see if that works for you and let me know.

One other thing that I noticed with your skin, there is no opening body tag on the event detail page which might cause problems with other modules down the line.

Core 5.2.9 TinyMCE4 update

IpsumJam

Thanks Douglas,

Yes I see this on your site using Firefox, not sure why I don't see it here. I'll get this fixed up as soon as I can.

Without the api key you should be good for 25000 calls to the api per day.

Do you have maps showing to the public on your site? Googl terms and conditions are that some maps need to be public - ie you can't have a site which only shows maps to logged in users. However, I doubt that will be the problem if you have just installed it.

Can you send a private note here on jamroom.net?
