categories in custom module

Hello,
I was wondering if there a way to create admin backend way to build categories in custom module ie not categories that user creates but on the user side for there to be droplist of categories as I trying work out how to build custom module for my second life script as I have basic module created and now trying work out categories as on the theme I need to be able to display products on front page as well have pages for each categories etc

sofa I been running for 2 weeks and still seem to have steady traffic and increase of new signups.

currently working on my documentation as well as my main site to help increase traffic more.

seem to get lot of people using the site just having hard time getting people use the forums as everyone uses the sites and uploads there music just I need work on way to share the players at some point as been thinking about creating my own player as everyone keeps asking they want to be able to share the players.

other then that the system is running great

thanks that did the trick just wanted to reset some of the old jamroom 4 profiles since I getting lot of new signups as getting average 15 new signups a day since using jamroom 5

could jwplayer be used since it works in html5 as well now as was looking for sharing kinda like youtube as people could share the players on other sites but also helps bring members over to my site having its own player

Hello I have small request is it possible to bypass the module templates via a skin directory as I would like too add some extra fields as not sure how the database overrides work but was worried about updates so at least this way I can compare myself and patch the files
