Transferring content to Jamroom

Installation and Configuration

My current website has so many members and member articles. Is there an easy way to transfer all these members and related articles to Jamroom?

Website shows directory listing after runnning installation

Installation and Configuration

.htaccess file is there. I think my problem is about using IP address instead of host name. I wanted to use the IP before pointing my web address to the server.

Website shows directory listing after runnning installation

Installation and Configuration

I have purchased a server from DigitalOcean and made all the necessary customizing, copied the files and run the installation. Installation was successfully finished but afterwards I can not browse the website but only file list.

Threaded/Nested comments with upvote/downvote function

Suggestions

I could not believe when I first saw how people care about up and down votes they get for their comments. They even visit the website again and again to check status of their comments. And also they like to discuss about their comments and get feedback from others.

I think this feature is a big plus or even a must for a community website.

Disqus Comments is a solution but who likes to outsource his own comments system.

Lessons and Articles

Using Jamroom

Thank you Brian. Great support! I have downloaded the core and playing around for a couple of days and checking how I can customize it for my website.

Threaded/Nested comments with upvote/downvote function

Suggestions

I think it would be great and very attractive for users to have a Threaded Comments system with up/down voting functionality.

Lessons and Articles

Using Jamroom

Hi Michael,

Yes I got the point. I will sure need "Form Designer" and "jrAparna" for a solution like Reviews.

But what if I'd like to let user to publish their own "guitar lesson" or "articles" and list them under their own profile and also in the main menu something like "Lessons".

Should I again create a new module named "Lessons" and enable jrEmbed module to let them add media into their lessons?

I am really sorry if it is a very simple and basic question. I am trying to understand.

Thanks!

Chained Select

Using Jamroom

Thank you Paul. I have created my chained select fields using your HowTo document without any problems. I can also display it in my new Form.

But when I try to save the form it says "invalid jrCore_checktype:" even if the validation field is disabled for the chained select items.

Another point is:
Maybe it would be really helpful if you can mention about the differences between chained_select_and_text and chained_select and their usage.

Thanks..

Chained Select

Using Jamroom

I have been checking it and YES it is possible to create it using Chained Select Module.

But the problem is that I can not use it in Form Designer. If I select Type as chained_select or chained_select_and_text nothing is displayed in the form.

In Form Designer I add a new field;

Type = chained_select_and_text
Option = review_cats (which is my chained select name)

But the field is not displayed.

If I add another type like a date field it is displayed without any problems
