3 questions about audio purchases

Using Jamroom

1. What section of the song is sampled for the preview? Meaning how is that determined during the encoding, does it take a predetermined section or randomly select 60 second section?

2. How can I display the MP3 bitrate? eg "320 mp3"? What I'm going to do is pitch to Artist that they can sell "extended mixes" in higher bit rate (eg for DJs) at $2.99 and then "Radio Edits" for regular audiences at 128k for $.99

3. Is the foxy cart bundles module used for bundling up songs into an Album and setting an album price?

Thanks guys!

Quota configuration assistance and recommendation please

Installation and Configuration

Just as a follow up to this - So there is no option for a trial period in JR5, correct? Is there a slick way to emulate that?

I did try this search in the profile browser, but did not get any results, but should have. Is my syntax correct? profile_jrAudio_item_count:0

Quota subscription term length Question.

Using Jamroom

I follow. If the PayPal and FoxyCart module are installed at the same time, does Jamroom support selection of payment method on a per quota basis?

I think no. But just wanted to ask...

Quota subscription term length Question.

Using Jamroom

I think this has been asked before, but I just want to make sure...

Is it possible to have a subscription term length of "forever" ie. a one-time payment?

What I'm trying to do is put ads (banners and station player inserts) onto the site. Then if the user wants to remove them, they pay a one-time fee of (say) $5 for an "Ad free account".

I suppose I could do a yearly subscription - but the idea of a one-time fee is appealing, if that's possible.

Mobile Skin Redirect

Design and Skin Customization

@b360 - what if you do something like:

If mobile device is detected, send them to m.domain.com - and there you have your separate css and skin templates?

Is there a way to set static prices on audio items?

Using Jamroom

My experience shopping on other MP3 sites, is that the prices are relatively set.

For instance,
New releases: $2.99
Standard Catalog $1.99
"Sale" items $1.49

New Albums: $14.99
Standard Abum $9.99
"Sale" album $4.99

Does Jamroom have a way to control that?
I'm setting up a 2nd site from scratch with Foxycart and audio sales. I just want to know what to expect when I get to that point...

Thanks!

Is anyone else seeing this in their marketplace?

Installation and Configuration

Yeah, I added some extra footer menus. Let me make sure I didn't miss a closing div or something like that. I'll look at the original code and compare. Thanks!
