1and1 suggest putting this Options -MultiViews in the htaccess before the mod_rewrite.

For the record I tried this. I also tried just removing - Index that is already attached to Options - MultiVieews in the code provided by Jamroom.

No luck.

I have an old computer with an i3 processor sitting here that I might turn into a server and try using jamroom on it. Might be easier instead of using 1and1 shared virtual host that I'm using.

The only way I was able to get the PHP working was to edit htaccess file. I had to add script that would enable PHP 5.3 on 1and1. After I edited and saved the htaccess then uploaded it, everything worked up until now. That's how I know it's uploaded and working. Is it possibly having to change the READ WRITE status of the file?

I need to change the Administrator email address, the one that gets notifications of new members, to an email address that is already taken by an Artist. The system will not let me do this. I went and changed the Quota of that person to Administrator but I still can't use their email address because it is "already being used."

This change is very important because the Artist who's email address I want to use runs the site!

I successfully installed Jamroom5 on my 1and1 server. I'm not able to Create my initial account and get a 404 error.
