Need for a Search within specific features (& Profiles/member List issues)

Ning To Jamroom

Hi Brian,

I concur with Strumelia that category specific search is something all former Ning communities are used to, and will be expecting.

Definitely an important "feature request", when the structural issues are settled and time permits.

Internal Server Error - jrCore/router.php on line 305

Using Jamroom

brian:
Ken_Rich:
AddHandler php5-fastcgi .php
Action php5-fastcgi /cgi-bin/php.fcgi

These are NOT part of Jamroom's .htaccess file, so your server (i.e. cpanel) must have added them in on your behalf, which is a bad idea. I'd recommend having your server guy fix your server so it does not do that.

Hope this helps!

Ah... This keeps getting weirder... I was in looking at the .htaccess for the main domain as a followup. It has those two files and is running fine (or so it seems).

What I don't understand, is how the main domain ( http://indiegospel.net) is running JR5 with them, but the sub domain http://sandbox.indiegospel.net wouldn't run an independent install of JR5, with those same settings.

Can't Upload to Gallery

Using Jamroom

Hi Brian,

I installed the update, and re-enabled the module.

On system check the warning is given - fail EXIF Image functions are not installed in PHP

So your update appears to be working perfectly. Galleries continue to work even with the unsupported module enabled. The help file is linked to the warning, all good.

Npages - Embed not working

Ning To Jamroom

I rather suspect this is because of my peculiar circumstance of being in the NingNova skin. Paul was working on Npages before he went on vacation.

I'm not sure what state all that custom work is, but embed works in blogs and regular pages (I briefly re-enabled for test) but not in Npages - at least not on my network.

Hi Michael,

I know where php.ini is in my cpanel, and my friend runs the server. So armed with that knowledge, we should be able to sort it out.

Thanks for your time...

How Do Members Switch Quotas?

Ning To Jamroom

Yes - I have almost 1,200 members coming over from Ning who need to change quotas by themselves. The migration tool dumps them all into one default quota.

Some network creators have 5 times that many members or more, so it's impractical for the admin to switch them, even if he knew what quota they would chose and had their credit card numbers for subscribed categories.

For example, in my case I have free artists, paid artists, free members, paid members, and charities. All have different quota settings.

I was trying to explain this to Paul at one point. What's needed is a pop-up for logged in members of the default Ning quota. It should have a message and link to a page with choices (free and paid). Kind of like this but with the addition of free categories that bypass the shopping cart. https://www.jamroom.net/documentation/image/doc_image/84/xxlarge

Then during migration, the former Ning members will quickly sort themselves into the appropriate quotas. Currently it is not even possible for them to do so in free quotas, and not a "user friendly" process in any case.

OK - These errors have many repetitions in the error log.

I found out by trial and error if I disable the module "Gallery Image EXIF" the gallery works fine.

So I guess the question is now - what's up with the "Gallery Image EXIF" module?
