JR5 SEO

Using Jamroom

We rather bring important keywords close to the root, keep the URLs short preferably without unnecessary words/directory structures.

for example:

http://mysite.com/directory/124/word-a-some-id-18-rock-music

vs

http://mysite.com/directory/rock-music

will have better cached pages, more organic visitors, better search engine click through rates compared to the impressions and over all better SEO.

Shayan:
Is there any way to remove the ID folder we see in the middle of an URL? Perhaps options to edit the urls. i always had better SEO when ever i edited the URL slug in wordpress. something like that would be really nice.

Like Paul pointed out, the ID is required in JR - you're not going to be able to remove it. The URLs in JR5 are setup pretty awesome for SEO in my opinion, but if you think the URLs are not setup properly, you'll need to use something different than Jamroom. The URL structure is pretty much set in stone for JR5 - it can't be changed without changing out most of how the core works.

sorry didn't mean to say SEO isn't setup properly. I've noticed that nested folder in url has less weight when pages are cached by SE and was just a suggestion.

A normal jamroom setup url for a similar item would look like this:
http://rhythm247.com/page/124/wizkid-manager-involved-in-auto-crash

ProJam5 Customization Questions

Jamroom Help

I'll wait on it then.

being very good in SEO and getting traffic from social sites are must these days for any sites and script to survive. Wordpress done a great job in this regard for example. You can pretty much write your own URL or do anything you want with the URL.

I know we came a long way but hope @brian and team consider this for next releases.

ProJam5 Customization Questions

Jamroom Help

will it be possibe to add the song id at the end of the song name? something like this:

yoursite.com/mda-the-blaquesmyth/step-to-my-rep-71/
yoursite.com/mda-the-blaquesmyth/step-to-my-rep-71.html

this will be a great seo boost as we are getting rid of two folders.

thank you. I am not sure if we can get rid of that #71 from the example. I tried it once before in V3.

i've been working on mediapro5 skin for last couple of hours. still trying to understand where is what. no documentation in the codes at all, which makes it hard.

So it is possible to alter it to http://SiteName.com/Artists/Albums/Song-names

rather than having digits and "audio" ahead of album name?

ProJam5 Customization Questions

Jamroom Help

i am considering buying the skin. Depends if I can do couple of things:

1. Is it possible to change the skin name from "jrProJamLight" to "anyname"? any resource that i can follow? I couldn't find anything.

2. I know its probably long shot and most likely a jamroom core question. I would like to change the urls to be more cleaner. i.e,
http://SiteName.com/Artists/Albums/Songs

rather than i.e,
http://demo.jamroom.net/jrProJamLight/mda-the-blaquesmyth/audio/71/step-to-my-rep

Is it possible?

Thanks

Thanks you
