Hosting Payments made via PayPal

Suggestions

I'd love to be able to pay for hosting via PayPal instead of a credit card.

I'm Canadian and as such I'm often on the losing end of exchange rates & fees when paying in USD. These are incurred each time I use a credit card which must convert the USD to CAD.

With PayPal I keep a USD balance; no conversion, no fees, no bad exchange rates if the Canadian dollar is tanking on the day of the charge.

Something to consider. Thanks!

P.S. If this is already available and I'm just missing it please point me to it :)

Hi Paul. Yes, I stuck with JR5 as I had so much going on with the site launch was scared to do beta at the same time :)

ETA: If JR6 beta is fairly stable I could upgrade and save you the trouble. What do you recommend?

Blog Post Order as shown in a Blog Category

Ning To Jamroom

See that's what I'm confused about, Douglas, because what I'm seeing is:

Example:
http://livinghistoryvw.com/tatiana-dokuchic/blog/category/art
Which comes out as:
blog_publish_date 2013-07-13 blog_display_order 15
blog_publish_date 2012-04-06 blog_display_order 25
blog_publish_date 2010-09-30 blog_display_order 21
blog_publish_date 2015-11-03 blog_display_order 2

The post on the very bottom 2015-11-05 should be at the top if it's by blog_publish_date.

I would be happy to have these sorted by either blog_publish_date desc or blog_display_order asc.

BTW: I actually did put in a ticket for this as you suggested.

How to Include "Add to Timeline" for Forum/Create when posting as Admin?

Using Jamroom

Hi Michael

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it out but no luck.

Perhaps it's because as a former Ning site we have setup a "main" forum which belongs to a second profile "Living History" that I am the sole owner of.

I click the "+" on site.com/livinghistory/forum and no "add to timeline".

It might be the same situation as mentioned here:
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/using-jamroom/44479/posting-as-admin

Strumelia:
As I recall, both SoaringEagle and I asked for this function (to have our Admin posts show in the main page timeline)...and we got it accomplished. Alas, I can't find that thread by search terms now, and I can't recall which of the JR Team helped us get it done or how exactly it was done. But all my public posts, items, etc and those of my profile admins now do show in the main Timeline on Index page...which is really good because we do a whole lot of member encouragement and activity stimulation actions. Such as commenting on someones new video or responding enthusiastically to a thread or someone's new photo etc.

Strumelia mentions that it was somehow enabled for her so I'm keeping my fingers crossed :)

How to Include "Add to Timeline" for Forum/Create when posting as Admin?

Using Jamroom

When I'm creating a new Forum Topic as a regular user I have the "Add to Timeline" option. This option is not available when I am acting as the administrator.

How do I include it?

Thanks!

Sounds good. Thank you, Douglas!

ETA: I don't think it's sorted by blog_publish_date because if you look at the very bottom of the list you will see that the blog_publish_date is later than that of the first blog and the blogs at the top are ordered descending UNTIL that one.

Sure thing, Douglas.

There are a few where you can see latest blog_publish_date and blog_display_order are at the bottom. Here are two of them:

http://livinghistoryvw.com/tatiana-dokuchic/blog/category/art

Blog Post Order as shown in a Blog Category

Ning To Jamroom

I'm focusing on Blog Posts as shown on Profiles.

I understand that the Blog page on a Profile is ordered by blog_display_order as set by jrBlog index.tpl. That works as expected.

However, when I go to a Category the ordering gets kind of funky. They are not ordered by blog_display_order and they are not ordered by blog_publish_date. My guess is that they are ordered by _created (which I really don't want).

Is this correct and where would I go to change this?

Thanks!
